Whoa! I misses this. I don't REAlly know SBY and personally I don't really like chocolates, but her breeding of Partis speaks for itself. Besidea color anyone have an issue with her dogs conformity? She is the best IMHO I love her adherence to no white on the face Some YTCA members don't do the half she does actually. Let alone traditiinal AKC breeders. I'm sorry what was the point of this thread to announce her breeding or to start drama and trash talking. I'm so disapoonted YTers went here again... |

I seriously love you |
Sometimes I get confused thinking I'm on YTCA Talk and not on Yorkie Talk...back to bed, what a nightmare. |

I have to ask seriously what was the point of this thread again?? I really dont get it. |
I think it is productive thread, really educating. I love to hear all sides of a topic. It helps me to understand where each of my YT friends is "coming from" and why they believe what they believe. The knowledge and explanations on all sides is so indepth and very enlightening. As some one who doesn't have a vested interest or a particular standing on this topic I've been able to decipher why each side is as passionate about their belief as they are, there are definitely two schools of thought on the topic. Both sides are very well versed and put forth a good argument as such. I wouldn't dare criticize or pick one school of thought over the other as it is "out of my league", so to speak. What I have garnered is that we definitely have some very dedicated YT'ers who are very dedicated to their particular beliefs and there is nothing wrong with that, because while each of them feel this way none of them truly FAULT the other on a personal level; rather, they offer us very good perspectives to enable to decipher where our own opinions on this topic lay. It is always good to have more than one view to choose from in any topic/subject. Just as a democrat and a republican have a right to choose their affiliation. Just my analogy! That is what I, personally take from this thread! At the end of the day, I respect and validate each person who contributed their views, because they didn't have to. |

I don't understand why it is so hard for you to believe there may be parti/Biewer breeders that are not breeding for "public demand" but because they love the coloration of their yorkies and would like to continue their lines. Just as there are a few breeders of traditional color yorkies that along with breeding for themselves, don't breed primarily for the selling of puppies. Most of the show breeders I'm aware of, breed far more dogs then they'll ever take into the ring. Do we really need that many show yorkies to "better the breed"? I understand change is tough and not easily accepted. Where in this world would we be though, as a society if we did not at least consider the idea of change, even if it makes us uncomfortable? |

The popularity of yorkies has been the breed's downfall......if the popularity of the Biewer's or Parti's increased and they were in the top 10 on the AKC list, you would see more of them in shelters. Oh, and of course their prices would go down and there would definitely be more and more being sold. It has happened with many breeds...I remember after the Disney Dalmation movie..omg the shelters and rescues were overwhelmed. I find all of it disturbing....the many countless pups of all breeds that are euthanized daily. :( Hard to wrap my mind around it...and doubly hard to watch people breed and sell them to just anyone with a buck in their pocket and not worry about what happens to them later. Everyone says they do it out of the love for whatever breed or color it is...no one ever admits the real reason which imho is either ego or money or both. I am sure that some really DO breed for the love of the breed the are breeding, but I would not honestly know HOW to tell who was telling the truth. I have seen things happen to pups and have known where they came from and just sat with my mouth agape. I won't get into jumping on anyone, because sadly more people are doing the wrong thing imo than anyone really realizes. I only care to rescue those who have gotten the short end of the stick. Sadly, we will never be able to save them all...the numbers are just sickening and far too many people have their heads somewhere other than their shoulders. |

My knees were literally shaking the other day when I was at the Vet...I arrived early and the waiting room was packed...of course folks started chatting amongst themselves and before long ethical breeders vs unethical breeders vs rescue conversation was going on...I was, because of YT able to participate rather well:D One quiet person with a very, very, tiny baby asked where I got Mini I told her, then I asked her and she said the SPCA. I thought hmmmm cuz I check the site everyday and never saw a Yorkie puppy, I was concerned that there was preferential adoptions going on type of thought!!! Her husband came in sat down and she was called to the counter to fill out new patient paperwork...another newbie to the waiting room asked the husband where he got the puppy...I almost fell off my chair when I heard the name of the breeder....I KNOW THIS BREEDER, AS DO MANY OF YOU. The wife obviously lied to me after hearing the conversation that was going on...This woman was well known to the practice and was very obviously more concerned about the cost than the care of the pup...you know what I mean...everyone was sitting there like omg why does she even have a pup...anyway...I can assure you that had the breeder contacted the vet, the vet would not have endorsed this family for an adoption....apparently they keep getting the worst puppies and always have to get rid of them...my vet owns one of her discarded pups...I wonder if the breeder who shipped her half way across the country even knows OR CARES. |
