I had asked about the raspberry before and was told it would not be a good idea to give to my bitches. It can cause premature contractions in a pregnant bitch. Don't know for sure if that is true because I did not try using it, didn't want to take a chance.

The reason I'm asking is because I was told that it was excellent for the breeding female. I just would feel safe if others have used it and find out how true it is . I won't give it to her until I am convinced it's a good thing.

pills My English breeder friend used to bring me a few dozen bottles when she visited her family in the UK. For many years we gave them faithfully. After her death, I stopped. I asked around where to buy them and got negative feedback, including my vet??? This was after useing them for 15 yrs. I honestly don't know, but many, many UK breeders used them..so I followed their advise. Last edited by YorkieRose; 12-07-2005 at 05:48 PM.

pills Not to my knowledge...never had early labor..BUT I was told not to buy raspberry tea capsules from the Health food store. It had to be pills made especially for dogs..my vet said raspberry tea was raspberry tea..??? Perhaps, the English were prejudice regarding US products..but since they invented the Yorkie and had these product decades before we did, I feel they had the right to not like what was sold in Health food stores.

pills Shirley (Vallee Yorkies) bought the pills made for females in weight range, not over 10 pounds. They looked exactly like red M&M's. We gave out girls one per day starting at the first day of the heat cycle and continued until the pups were weaned. I am going to look at the site now.

Bitch Pills IF you look at the ingredients in "Bitch Pills"..you will see they contain Red Raspberry leaves...BUT I am not suggesting anyone use these pills. Suppliments can do just the opposite and cause problems..natural, herbal whatever.

Ps Something I remember..when my girls whelped years ago, there was alot more water produced..and I think this is just what the pills are suppose to do..makes the birthing easier. I went through a number of big towels and water would gush out and soak the bedding. Birthing is still wet..but not likeit was..
