| HELP one or two xrays? hi, had an xray done on my girl today as she is nearly at the 60day mark. now she has had 4 ultrasounds done pervious that firstly showed 3 then showed 4 to 5 puppies. the xray today wich may i add was rubbish! must be an old machine! the vet seems to think three! im not happy with his service as he clearly couldnt be bothered and even made out i was being crule by hyaving an xray done on a pregnant dog! so i was wondering if it would be safe for her to have another xray done at a different vets? or is this risky to have more than one done! oh and may i add, while in the xray room, he was all kitted up with lead aprons ect and didnt give me anything!!! and i was right next to my girl and the machine! |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | I would have a second x ray done in a place with a good machine, when my girl gets an x ray I can count heads and spines , and let me add, x rays are NOT cruel, not knowing and leaving a dead pup inside a bitch is... best of luck,, |

| If your momma is on day 60, she is close to whelping....the rads she will get from a repeat xray will not harm her or the babies...if your were re-raying on a weekly basis, from day 5 of pregnancy, you could have cause for concern for the babies...but another xray at this stage isnt going to harm anything! I want to add, hopefully you have someone that knows exposure dosing times necessary for a good xray on your momma, as well as someone that can READ an x-ray!!! |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | oh,ok, I don't do x rays until day 59, to make sure the babies are fully calcified, you can wait if she is on day 56 until she is on day 59-60 it does makes a difference. hugs, |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | oh yes, her pups are fully formed, I had girls had x rays earlier, specially my maiden girls, I had one that we did an x ray at 55 days because her pelvic bone seem too narrow, then another one at 59 days and she looked normal, but I had a vet on stand by in case she needed a C-section.. your girl and the babies will be fine.. hugs, |
