| Starting Puppy Watch! We are on day 58 from Molly's first breeding (we also bred her two days later). Its a little early but I have started taking her temp and watching her closely. I am so excited! This is her second litter, last year we had a 10 day span where the conception could have taken place because the father lives with us and they tied so often, but this year he is neutered and the breedings were scheduled with the new father so I am very thankful to have a more definite span of days to expect puppies. We can feel what we think are at least 3 puppies, I can hear heartbeats but they blend together so it is difficult to actually try and figure out how many seperate beats there are. She had two last time and is much larger. She started out at 4.4lb and now weighs 6.4 lb! (a 2 pound weight gain so I wonder if she may have four). Anyways, wish us luck We are all prepared but the waiting is the hardest part. I'm trying to not get excited until at least Saturday. |

| Oh how exciting!!! Can't wait to hear when she goes into labor. Seeing that she was so tiny to begin with, don't you want to have xrays taken to know exactly how many puppies you are expecting? Good luck to you...... and Molly!

| Update, day 59: No change, Molly is still eating, temp in the 99's or high 98's at night. I'm glad to be past 59 days, I would have been worried if she had delivered before now. I have a good feeling saturday is the day, not sure why. |

| No puppies yet. We are on day 61. Her temps have been 98.8-99.9 all the way along depending on time of day however we just took her temp and it was up to 100.6 so this may be the temp spike before the drop if she follows normal temperature trends prior to whelping. My husband and I were just feeling puppies again and are almost sure we can feel four in there Will keep you updated. |
