| stud not interested So when your female is at day 11 of her heat...going crazy/humping the male/standing for him/flagging but he sniffs/licks starts to act interested but then isn't...what's up? Does she only think she's ready and he knows the score?? She bred on day 12 before (different stud). Wondering if he's not up to it. I really want him as he is champion-sired, healthy, and very good looking, so I'm beginning to get concerned here.

| Agree with you... but do you have a back-up just in case? I am not a breeder, but when my female comes in season, she gets real flirty before day 10... IDK

| Is he well seasoned at breeding? I have had long time studs show little interest in a bitch....but the very mention of another studs name usually got the ball rolling....LOL Do you have another stud to bring into the room...holding him and showing the reluctant one there is another waiting...maybe she is a few days off.. |

Thanks for responding. Yes we brought in the other stud but they wanted to fight. Did make the one a bit more interested, but the other stud was definitely ready to go. I think she's definitely ready, just this stud is 'not with the program" for whatever reason.

| How old is the male and is he proven? Is this a male you own or one you just brought over for breeding? Are you keeping the male and female apart except for when you are trying to breed them?

| Sometimes it helps to give them a bath, they tend to get frisky after bath time. One male I had after a bath wanted to hump everything in site. |
