And on another thread says that she is rehoming the dog.

I just bought this puppy 22 days ago and this week I was given notice at work that my last day is mid-Oct. ~ I am basically out of job by then and will not think having this puppy at this time is the best time for my financial situation. And since I have the puppy for 22 days now, the price I came up with is 45% less then what I paid for everything that is included with her. If I am reading her posts correctly, it appears that she "got her first Yorkie" September 7, 2008 and then had one posted for sale September 30, 2008. So whatever that means - I am assuming she sold the puppy she just got - the longest she could have been breeding is a couple years. I mean, she just sold her first Yorkie, so she would have had to start over with a new Yorkie. Is the breeder's name Wilson Ang? If not, magansmomma is referencing the wrong (ex)member. Very curious!

I don't think this is the same person. Jamie Bennett is this breeder's handler. I do think she's pretty new to the exhibitor arena.

Yep! Several well known handlers/exhibitors/breeders....some from Europe. Jamie being one....couple of others I can place the faces, but sketchy on the names, but European and well known have seen and met once or twice in NY (will have to check FB, since they are on my friends list)


Like I said this person appears to be new to the exhibiting world.

Honestly I think her website was just thrown together because she did not have one. I don't think anything is sketchy. I fell in love with the lady right from the first time we talked. Her name is Rita, but I don't know her last name. I don't think her website is really meant to market her dogs because she doesn't breed to sell all that often to begin with. She focuses on showing and breeds every once in a while. I think its just a simple, humble website that she will probably fix up later on or something. This is all, of course, just my own opinion.

I don't know, but, I really like her so far.

So, I clicked on the Onofrio link (just trying to unravel the mystery) and there are 4 Edgewood dogs that placed, but not bred by Rita Piko. They are all bred by Cynthia Hill. Rita's Benjamin that she brags about was bred by Cynithia Hill and Rita co-owns this dog with her. So, I guess the real question is . . . is Benjamin the sire of your potential puppy, OP? I am guessing that Edgewood has bred some champions, but at the same time, I find it odd the number of different owners (just from this one show).

OP - did she tell you her screen name on YT? Might be enlightening to see some her previous posts.

Did you see the dam? Because Benjamin is a champion, it is safe to assume he is healthy and a good representation of the Yorkie breed, but if he is bred to a dam that isn't it could throw things off. I'm not saying the dam has to be a champion, just a good representation of the breed and also health checked. I think I would feel fine in your shoes. It's a lot of money, probably driven by the success of Benjamin in the show ring, but if she provides the appropriate coverage on the contract it is probably not out of line.

Benjamin is a doll and Rita is a very nice person and caring breeder IMHO.
