Does anyone know this breeder -- Eden Valley?
 
I saw an online ad for a Yorkie that was obviously a scam (I am not looking to buy one, and wouldn't buy this way, I just get curious). They gave a website address ( ryansbullies.tk ), and I just went to look at it out of curiosity.

On the scammer's website, ryansbullys.tk, they used the name "Eden Valley Yorkshire Terriers." Nosey rosey that I am, I googled "Eden Valley" to see what I could find. That brought me to a completely different website, and it looks to be the website of a very legitimate breeder and exhibitor.

Not only is the scammer using this breeder/exhibitor's kennel name, they have totally copied entire sections of text (plagiarized) from her site. Oh, but they do manage to add, at the bottom of the page, that the text is copyrighted by Eden Valley, just so we are aware that it is illegal to copy it without permission! And ... the scammer displays the YTCA logo on their website.

OMG that's terrible :eek:. I don't know this breeder, but maybe someone does.

I would suggest using the contact info on her website and send her what you found out. That way you know for sure she knows what is going on.

Eden Valley Yorkshire Terriers/Delores Kauffman is Legit.....She's in Weimar,CA. Member of YTCA since 1976.

So, I don't know what is going on.

Looks like a scammer is mimicking her website. I don't know much about legal stuff and if what he is doing can be served with a cease and desist order or formally prosecuted for ruining reputation. However, you might want to let her know... there is no e-mail listed on her website (that I can find) so it makes it hard to contact her.

I thought "reputable" breeders didn't advertise their championships? Does it really matter who got the championship?The original owner or the past owner? Either the dog is a champion or has champions in its line or it is not. Not trying to start an argument, just seems like there are different rules for different people, as such hard to tell what's really right. There are all sorts of ways to say: "Champion Bloodlines" and "breeding champions since ..." is just another way of saying it (IMO)

I'm just going off what the OP said. She said this website was in a supposed scam ad she saw and it is mimicking this breeder's site. I just wouldn't want the 30 year breeder's reputation to get hurt if this was a scammer... Also, it seems like at the bottom he is trying to use her kennel name unless one capital letter (YorkShire vs. Yorkshire) makes a difference??? I'm not on the up and up in these sorts of things. Maybe you can have similar kennel names, what do I know?

::shrug:: Either tell her or don't. It really doesn't affect me any. I just hate to see someone screwed over that's all.

I know nothing about Delores, other than she's an elderly lady and really no longer breeding.

Maybe I wasn't clear? To me it looks like what is going on is that a scammer has lifted the text from her website and is using her name. I'm sure if someone tried to buy a pup from the scammer, you would send the money by Western Union and then get no pup in return.

I just want to make it clear that I am not blaming the REAL Eden Valley for anything. I think someone has stolen this copyrighted text from Eden Valley's website, along with the Eden Valley name, and are using it for fraudulent purposes. Imagine if someone buys a puppy from the scammer, then gets no puppy and tries to pin it on the legitimate Eden Valley, files reviews on rip-off reports, etc., it could cause Eden Valley some problems and smear their name.

I found an email address of her's on shooterdog.com and sent an email, but unfortunately it came back as undeliverable.

I know of Delores and of her lines as she was pretty well known in the 60s and 70s, nice lines.

Do you think her phone number is still the same from her website? :confused:

If the email fails we could always try that route if it is deemed necessary.
