Is this a Puppymill??? I went to the Womans home i saw all the dogs, many different types, house was imaculate, but the puppies were all in pens...I asked her where she got all these puppies,& she said Breeders give them to her to sell for themWhy couldnt they sell them themselves was my question, she said they go away on vacacions @ those times,so i sell them for them @ a small fee....I never saw Scamps parents, she said thats because the Breeders gave her only the puppies...& i asked what was the parents names...took her awhile to make up names well thats what i believe anyway.....Has any breeder on here...gave other Breeders their puppies to sell for them?????????

She sounds like a puppy broker. You never know where they get the puppies, just have to trust what they say and usually you are not able to view the parents... not good things.

I co-own two males with afriend of mine- I will use these males and so will she to breed our gals. We will not always have them with us to show who the daddy is- This does not make us a puppy mill. I will at times lease a bitch from one of my other breeder friends to breed to a particular male- I will only have this female while she is expecting and approx 8 weeks after that- then she goes back to her owner- This does not make me a puppy mill. At times people will contact me for a puppy- I will tell them about my friends puppy- I have picked the puppies up from Clara and had the people come to my home to see the baby. This might have been a person from Michigan who wanted the baby and my friend Clara lives in Kentucky. Does this make me a puppy mill no. Did I get anything from the sale of the puppy- yep what it cost me in gas to meet Clara halfway from her home and mine and a free lunch. If I spend any money on vet bils she also will reinburse me for that. Does this make me a puppy mill NO. You have to take each situation case by case.

Wnalegria, I don't think what you're doing is a puppymill at all! I think that what i_love_my_yorki is telling us about is not at all the same thing as you are doing. It sounds like this other lady is a puppy broker...she's not sharing a male to breed...She has several breeds and a bunch of puppies with no parents at all.

My concern was that there are sometimes when a parent or parents may not be available for a buyer to see in person. I hoped that a newbie would not use that as a reason for thinking that someone was a puppymill. I just wanted to put a little more on the table to think about and explain why adults may not be available. Yes, I agree when there are several breeds it should make you wonder. I was pleased to hear that the puppies were well taken care of. Most brokers or puppymills care nothing about the babies. It breaks your heart.
