When registering a litter, when the owner of the dam is not the owner of the sire, Can it be done on the internet? How does that work? Does the AKC contact the owner of the sire for approval?

Yes, It can be done online. You go ahead and enter your dam owner info and they will ask info on the sire owner and then contact them via email with a link to complete the registration. I have done this with a past litter.
