| They can grow too big in utero to be free whelped, so do not over feed your bitch. I have had many whelp one with no trouble, others were sectioned out...and once they are born, they are wonderful!! Spoiled by mom, no clue they are not God's gift to the Yorkie world...very bonded to humans and a joy to own..I always tried to get mine with other pups at 6 to 8 weeks, but not always possible...so they played with other motherly adults, very doted on by the bitches...one of my singleton girls, KC lived 14 yrs...I still miss her..that baby was a wonderful companion..she loved her Yorkie mom too. Her mother had another singleton the next time and KC slept in the bed from the time the new puppy was a week old...she missed her mom. I LOVE SINGLETONS.... |

| My Bailey 14 yrs old now was a singleton...she was much easier to potty train and train all together than my 2 yr old Bella who is from a litter of 5. Singletons are beautiful

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | I suggest to get another xray done at day 55-56. It will give you a more accurate account. I have only had 1 singleton. She was huge and had to have a csection. I have heard others whelp singletons with no trouble. Do you have access to a vet 24/7? If you don't I suggest you find one that will be available. I suggest that with all whelps just not a singleton.

| During my 14 years of raising yorkie I have had at least 5 singleton litters. Only one of those resulted in a c-section and she was a 5 1/2 lb momma with a big pup in her.

| I had a singleton, he is now 3 months old. Free whelped. He got very fat by 3 weeks old, so I started putting him in with his cousins, who were 6 days older and smaller than he was. Both moms fed all 5 babies. Now he is a tiny little guy. So that early baby fat did not hurt him. |

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | My 61/2 pound female had a singleton puppy her first "litter". When we had the xray done, the vet came in and told me we had ONE LARGE PUPPY!!! Totally freaked me out for the next week or so before the whelp. The puppy weighed a whopping 6 3/4 ounces, but thankfully my girl got him out without needing a c-section. The "big" little boy grew up to be just in the 5lb range though........he is a little over 1 year old now.
