Best Breeders in NY/CT/NJ? Blue + Gold and Blk/tan I just lost my dearest little blue and gold male yorkie. My heart is broken--he was my sweetest angel. Now, my little black and tan female has cancer. She has never been alone. Since she was 7 weeks old, she had him and they loved one another so much. Now, she is sick and misses him on top of it. It breaks my heart to see her looking for him or lie around, where they used to snuggle. While it is so hard to think about this right, now I have to put her needs first. If she responds to her treatment, I want to try to find her a companion in a few months. I am looking for recommendations in breeders of both blue/gold as well as black and tan yorkies. I want a breeder who has been doing this for a long time; who loves dogs and is doing this only motivated by that love. I am looking for healthy, happy, Yorkies who are 5-7 lbs, full-grown. I have a VERY loving home for any dog-my dogs are my babies and I will do anything for them. I believe that when you take on a dog, you are its shepherd, from birth to death and it is your responsibility to keep it safe, warm, well-fed, happy, healthy, and give it a life full of nothing but love and squeaky toys. I'd appreciate any recommendations. Last edited by Miss V; 02-24-2005 at 08:02 PM.

I didn't know there were color differences in yorkies? I thought most yorkie puppies were black/tan until they reached adulthood where they were blue(silverish)/tan They have adult yorkies that are still black and tan like when they were younger?

| I am so sorry for your loss. They become so dear to us and always take a little of our hearts with them. You are welcome to check out my page. I have a 5 week old little boy that was an only child. He will be black and tan and is a little lovey, very affectionate. I'm in western NY www.simplyyorkies.com

Best Breeders in NY/CT/NJ? Blue + Gold and Blk/tan I, too, am very sorry for your loss. You must be heartbroken. My sympathies to you. From my experience, it was also very difficult for me to find a yorkie breeder in the NYC/NJ area (we live in NYC). My sister and I ended up getting our Sophie (a year ago today, in fact) from Wanda Smith at Moonlight Kennels in Springfield MO (I know, I know....from another yorkie chat forum that I used to belong to, it was argued that Moonlight was a puppymill, something that my sister and I were unaware of when we adopted Sophie). Sophie is black and tan, although her "tan" is now turning lighter(she's 15 months old). I have seen yorkies in my neighborhood that are very light, almost gold and silver. I haven't seen any in blue/gold, although Sophie's sire is blue/gold and I think her dam is black/tan, and her pedigree includes a number of blue/golds. In any event, if anyone does find a good reputable breeder or two in the NYC area, I'd love to know about them.

Best breeder in tri state area Sherlyn Yorkies in Connecticut. Sha beautifil healthy show dogs, that are just gorgeous. She's not cheap, but the was I look at it, pay now for a healthy pup, and save later on huge Vet bills. Her dogs have great dispositions and are just beautiful. She had 3 dogs entered in Westminster this year. Here's her site. http://www.sherlynyorkies.homestead.com/

Best Breeders in NY/CT/NJ Thanks for the info, Sio99 and MoGraceLiz. If we ever consider getting a sibling for our Sophie, we'll certainly check out your suggestions. I agree...spend some extra $$ for a healthy pup, but save later. Sophie is very healthy, active, and alert. She has a couple of champions in her pedigree, and we think she probably would have made a great showdog herself. She's a sweet little thing and has stolen our hearts completely. Thanks again!

Sherri Clark just had pups! She is in CT but not far from NYC. I take the metro north there to New Haven and rent a car cheap at the train station and take the 30 min drive. All in all with public transport out of Manhattan, It's about 1.5 to 2 hrs max. Much less to drive but car rentals are so expensive in NYC, and I like the train - it's just easier. Here is her site sherlynyorkies
