| Why wont they tie??? Honey-Bunny Update Hi all..hope this post finds you well. x My Stud dog has had a bitch to serve today,,,, she is 11 days into her cycle, 4 years old, a bit on the podgy side. This morning she is standing for him, but he 'missed matched'.... she came back 7 hours later and he just cant penetrate her???? Any thoughts or suggestions what could be the problem? I didnt want to tire Buddy out so after 45 mins i said lets leave it till tomorrow and ill bring my Stud to them......do u think her age and podgeness is the reason? Honey-Bunny Update - Doing really well in her new home, a Pink Princess with attitude ive been informed!... Waiting for some pictures which i will post. Stella RIP....never forgotten. I await your replies Thanks Ann-Marie |

| with my one girl ...my boy is a perfect match. he is 3 1/2 lbs and small. Felicity is 5. he finds his own way. My other Daisey is 7lbs and tall. not too compatible. So i have to help him by bending her down. I also had to place may hand underneath her to guide him. then he was a happy boy..hehehe. Felicity is due between the 11th and the 16th of September. Daisey is due between the 25th and the 31st. We just had Felicity xtrayed. they see three babies right now. i will have an ultrasound done next week. Hubby is a horse breeder and trainer so has access to vets daily... Good luck with stud man! |

| I just recently read on here somewhere...please correct me if I'm wrong..."if a dog isn't breed by 3 yrs old, then it shouldn't be breed." 5 yrs seems to be when breeders retire their dogs.

The bitch should come to the stud, you shouldn't be taking your stud to her.

| I honestly cannot understand this! Already this year, you have had two litters, both that presented you with serious problems and one that resulted in the loss of your female...just months ago. Based on the questions you consistantly ask, your knowledge regarding the breeding process seems minimal. I don't understand why on EARTH you are breeding at all right now? Give it a rest, work with a mentor and gain knowledge in all these areas you are consistantly unsure about then explore the option of breeding. And yes, as others have alrady stated. 4 years old is TOO old for a female to be bred for the first time. I hate seeing the members of YT being used as a crutch in situations like this to guide people who have not done their research through the breeding process. This is wrong! as everyone else has stated, shes too old, her extra weight will not help at all and may cause Serious probloems during pregnancy and birth- i'd be advising the bitches owner to spay her girl rather than risk losing her... you know how difficult that is to deal with. i am very glad honey-bunny is doing so well!
