Inbreeding-dad with daughter-is it ok? Is breeding the father and daughter ok? Or the mother with a son?

![]() If you were in the 1950's and the dog were of excellent quality , I would say yes but today , there is no need to risk to have these kinds of breedings .

| ![]() I would never do that!!! Today there is no reason to inbreed that close. You may get traits that are good, but then you risk the chance of developing a serious fault or health risk...

![]() ![]() ![]() Im not a breeder but I have heard this can cause major problems with health risks down the road disfigurement ( no foot, one leg etc..) among a whole list of other complications! you should not breed these parents to their children for what reason to sell the pups? Im sorry but but you did ask ![]() ![]()

![]() Welcome to YT..Yes, I do agree...inbreeding is no longer needed to produce a quality line of dogs. There are more risks then benefits today. There is an excellent article on inbreeding in the lastest issue of the Yorkshire Terrier magazine. Best wishes
