Inbreeding-dad with daughter-is it ok? Is breeding the father and daughter ok? Or the mother with a son? |
If you were in the 1950's and the dog were of excellent quality , I would say yes but today , there is no need to risk to have these kinds of breedings . |
I wouldn't, but people do! Why risk it! There are plenty of good quality dog out there. |
I would never do that!!! Today there is no reason to inbreed that close. You may get traits that are good, but then you risk the chance of developing a serious fault or health risk... |
:wavey:first let me welcome you to welcome to YTalk and the answer to that question is a big NO!!! the way I see it (just me) and I might get heck for this comment but it is only My opinion, the question would be directed back at you "would you" only think of this question on the human side breeding the father and daughter ok? Or the mother with a son? Im not a breeder but I have heard this can cause major problems with health risks down the road disfigurement ( no foot, one leg etc..) among a whole list of other complications! you should not breed these parents to their children for what reason to sell the pups? Im sorry but but you did ask  and again welcome :D |
Welcome Welcome to YT..Yes, I do agree...inbreeding is no longer needed to produce a quality line of dogs. There are more risks then benefits today. There is an excellent article on inbreeding in the lastest issue of the Yorkshire Terrier magazine. Best wishes |
