Of my 5 girls: Mikayla had her first at 11 months, 2nd at 16 months, 3rd at 22 months, still waiting for her next (so far she's at 8 months since her last and nothing yet) Brooklyn had her first at 14 months, 2nd at 20 months, 3rd now at 2 years and 6 months...so she didn't have her first until 14 months, she had her 2nd 6 months later, and now 9 months later she's having her third...lol Hadley had her first at 10 months, 2nd at 16 months, 3rd at 22 months, 4th at 2 years and 4 months (she's the ONLY regular girl so far) Maddie had her first at 9 months, she's due in January...so we'll see... Sophie is almost 8 months, and nothing yet...but she'll be spayed soon so I doubt she'll have one at all...:p |
My Bella is almost 10 months old and just went into heat for the first time a week ago today so she was about 9 1/2 months old. She looks just darling in her little panties! LOL! |

It is not al all uncommon for a female to become quite agressive when they are in season. It would be in the best interest of them both to keep them separated until she is out of season...which is up to 3 weeks. Accidents and happen in an instant, so don't leave them alone unsupervised for even a split second. ("Accidents" can be avoided.:) ) In any case, do not worry, your girls behavior is not at all out of the ordinary. Welcome to YT! |
So how long will it last? My Bridgett has been bleeding now for two weeks. At first it was just if she rubbed against something, now it's all over and her poor wee wee has just been so swollen for so long.....She is only 7 1/2 months  |
Silent Heats Can my yorkie get pregnant if she was in a silent heat? I have 2 females & 1 male. 1 female had puppies 10 1/2 weeks ago. She is not due to go into heat again until Dec. but I noticed her bleeding & swollen tonight after her bath. My other female won't be 1 yr old until Jan. Last week to week in half she was humping the other dogs. Also 3 times that week she had pooped solid & a little diarrhea in her kennel at night. She never does that! Was she maybe in a silent heat? Is that what brought my other female in heat almost 2 months early? Since she never bled I didn't keep her apart from my male. Is it possible she got pregnant? I sure hope not because she is only 10 1/2 months old! Thankyou to anybody who can help me with this!!!!! |

BTW, you may want to start a new thread...this one is very old and not altogether relevant to the problem you are having. |
My pepper has been in heat for 2weeks now and this is her first heat she is 10 months old |
yorike heat how long will this last? My yorkie just started being in heat last nite I noticed the lite colored pinkish and her privates are little swollen that is normal for being in heat and she is so cuddly even her poop looked like a flower! Its so obvious she is at prime time now but she is way to young to have any puppies Can anyone tell me how long she will be in heat for? |
Usually a heat lasts approximately 3 weeks--1st week red and very swollen, 2nd week pink to clear (and fertile) and 3rd week going out -- |
Is it common for them to have a little white discharge or would that be an infection? |
A white discharge may be an infection....not part of the heat cycle. |
Well it's more like yellow is that an infection? |

1. First week jComing in / 7 days....vaginal area pink and swollen 2. Second week - In / 7 days.....Showing Color 3. Third week - Coming out / 7 days ...... Breeding time will stand for a male and time of ovulation.....breeding time is usually on the 10th, 12 and 14th from the first day of showing color.......however, every girl is different. Breeding day is not when the girl concieves....The ova (eggs) are ready to be fetilized as they reach the uterus and break down if not fertilized within forty-eigh hours. The male sperm live up to 7 days. However, since each girl's fertile time is different it is best to keep your girl from males for about 4 weeks.....better safe than sorry. Personality wise, you do see your girls become more cuddly, loving....I call it losing their minds....Some girls take a bit longer than 3 weeks for their hormones to get back to normal. So, their different behavior can last up to 6 weeks. |
