Darlene, I don't know anything about the first breeder and do not know the second one personally, I do know, however, that Joymason has been breeding and showing in Canada for many years and I have not heard anything negative about her or her dogs. Third one, don't know of, but the girl looks really nice. |
Yorkie $1500 OMG!!! :eek:OMG $1500 for a dog that is insane sorry to say I cannot imagine spending that much you could definitely find a same qualified yorkie for under $700 people who charge that much are rip offs that's crazy.I would keep looking and never ever pay a head of time for a dog that is being shipped always pay in person that is the biggest rip off scam! Beware and be careful people prey on people looking for yorkies and just because they have a website doesn't make them legit! their are a ton of free websites out there.Good luck |
I am sure you will find the perfect puppy soon. Good Luck! |

When I bought Beamer, even though I was looking for a pet, I wanted a quality dog from a reputable breeder. I could have bought several through the local paper for under $700, but I would have got what I paid for! Pay the extra and buy through a reputable breeder and get a quality dog that is not going to be costing an arm and a leg in vet bills down the road. Beamer was a year old, but I still paid $1350 including shipping. But I have a very healthy little boy, with good blood lines. I had no problem sending his breeder the money and having her ship Beamer to me. I would willingly buy another Yorkie from this breeder. A good breeder has put a lot of money into the breeding of the dogs. The prices may seem high to someone who has no idea what goes into breeding, but believe me, they aren't high. You do get what you pay for (that has always been my motto in everything I buy) Had I bought a puppy from this breeder instead of a 1 year old little boy I would have expected to pay a lot more. |

First breeder sure has her hands full with all her dogs...but with good help it can be done..just looks like a high volume breeder. I have known Betty Anne to refer several people to good breeders and the buyers were very happy with their pets..good luck PS..$1500 is a very fair and average price ...best wishes |

As for the first breeder, what separates her from a BYB or mill. With that many dogs she is definitely breeding for money. Personally I would not pay $1500 for dog from that one. Prices are down right now and you can find lots of well bred puppies for less than that. I would expect to pay that much from a show breeder, but not from someone that breeds for profit. |
I've heard of Joymason, she has lovely dogs and have seen a couple of her dogs in the ring. I personally don't know her or of her breeding practices. My suggestion is to contact Lorraine/Loriben Yorkshire Terriers, a member here and knows of breeders throughout Canada. She's a YT member and also has a website, PM her, I know she'll provide you some honest input. $1,500 hundren dollars is a fair price, that is if there is a good health guarantee in place and the dogs are a good representation of the breed. |

I am such a mess over trying to find the right breeder, I bawled on the phone to a friend today like a newborn baby:rolleyes: I can't believe how frustrating it is, especially when you live in an area such as I do. |

There is a lot that goes into breeding, if you are a reputable breeder and not a BYB or puppymill. Breeders that breed for the right reasons and for the betterment of the breed vs just for how much money they can get have a lot invested in their dogs. I'm not and never could be a breeder, but I commend breeders who are doing it the right way and know their lines and do all the proper testing, etc... |
