| ![]() haha Thanks. There was not a third pup like the x-ray showed. We gave her the POP shot too. Her tummy is flat and squishy. I've detected no fetal heartbeat or movement. Things got scary during delivery. Two sacs presented themselves at the same time. Two bubbles of almost equal size and looked to be about the size of walnuts each. I phoned the ER vet and was told that was normal, but to wait 1-2 hours unless I was sure a pup was stuck. She pushed constant for about 40 minutes...I threw my shoes on and was going to take her in anyway but then I saw a head in one of the sacs so then I figured it wasnt stuck since the head had came down. I helped her get it out, but then that second sac was STILL there and the placenta gave us a difficult time coming out. As soon as that placenta came, the other pup came out easily. For the first few hours, momma didnt want to let the pups nurse and kept trying to get away from them. She wouldnt let me get any rest either as she kept coming out of the crate and begging me to let her come up in the bed to sleep with me. It was an all nighter and I'm really tired, but I'm thrilled this delivery was uneventful considering two pups were trying to come at the same time. I'll post pics and weights in the nursery, but I will say there is a surprise in the pic. |

Yep, we were fooled too..even the vet. She thought there were three based on the postion of the head in relation to the spine...but these little ones are very flexible. | |
