| welcome to YT. I would suggest diapers and belly bands. on both! i say both because I had panties on Ahia and was gone for 15 minutes and by the time i got back in the house Buckeye had gotten her panties off of her and we had a litter of 4 one week ago. (her second heat). If I had stuck to both being protected I don't think this would have happened. her first heat i did keep both protected and it worked good. good luck.

| First heats can vary greatly and it's best to assume you missed it or it was silent if you don't see signs of it before 18 months. Very important to keep males and females separated unless closely supervised and with a few layers (bands/diapers) between them to give you a few seconds reaction time if hanky panky starts. Accidental breedings happen very quickly. |

| thank you for your reply, if we assumed that we missed the first heat then do we still skip over the next heat and then breed in the third? i dont want spay her cause i would like just one litter form her to see what they will produce.when does it become a medical concern?
