| What part of the puppy is out. If it's the head, your girl may need some assistance in dilating. Put on a surgical glove. Slather your index finger with KY and insert your finger and gently lubricate her vaginal opening....This method is called feathering and can get her to bear down harder and expel the pup and of course it also dilates her....If that doesn't help, you have minutes to get her to the vet.

| Ream her by dilating her. remove the membrane, suction the mouth. get her to another ER vet.....The reaming should allow the shoulders should pass. I've had this problem before and it has worked. Remember you have other pups behind it and their lives are on the line.

| Don't panic...the head is out and still in the sac...do as Mary said and gently pull it out..it probably needs one or two good pushes..it will come out just when you think it won't... Last edited by YorkieRose; 06-02-2010 at 09:17 AM. |
