Senior Yorkie Talker | Pregnancy Advice Please Hi All, I am new to YT and have two beautiful Yorkies named Emma and Dawson. After doing months of research and absorbing as much information as I possibly could, we decided to breed. We have done all the necessary check-ups and pre-test and got the green light from our vet. If we are to be grandparents, it should take place around the 19th or 20th of June. We have a pre-whelping and Xray scheduled for June 11th. I have read hundreds of posts and sites on the signs of Yorkie pregnancy, so much so that, I should be an expert by now, right. WRONG. There are days when I think I see the signs, and the next I think I imagined them. I know that YT users give wonderful, caring advice and would like to give you a run down on what is going on with Emma and get your feed back. Emma's teats are a little longer and have a bit of a pink color. She has always been a lap dog of sorts, but lately, she stays right up under me. She has cut her play time a bit and is very snippy toward Dawson, if he approaches me when she is on my lap or chest. She does seem to be resting a bit more and for a few days had a clear discharge. I have tried listening for heart beats but feel it may still be too early for that. Her belly seems firm but does not show apparent puppies. If anyone could give me some input, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, YorkieProud |

| Me too. While reading and absorbing information is a great start, it doesn't replace a great mentor. Good luck with everything!

| I'm not sn expert but I'm going through it for the first time right now. Shayna didn't show till 6 weeks, yes they get aggressive to other dogs (Shayna snips at Ginger our mini bull and chases her away, yes sleep alot, and yes, a lot less play. I just started hearing heartbeats and we are in the 8th week. Shayna's teets are swingin' low lol, we think she looks like a cow these days. Get ready for some amazing changes. I did everything like you... read, read, read... now I wait, wait, wait... Have fun and try not to get anxious |

Senior Yorkie Talker | Belly Pics I posted some of Emma's belly pics in an album. I tried to attach to this post, but it would not allow, as it has limited space. Her belly is firm but really no bigger than usual. YorkieProud |

| Have you taken her back into the vet since mating for a follow up? The vet can palpate around 28 days and can definitely tell you if she is pregnant or not. I am in the same boat expecting lil ones around July 6. It could be that Emma is carrying 1-2 pups. If you haven't already I would definitely go in for a follow up to 1st confirm pregnancy, just to ease your mind. |
