| Oh no...the poor girl. I hope that she gets better quickly. Uterine infections are not that uncommon. Like I said in another thread, many vets give and many breeders opt for preventative antibiotics. |

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | So sorry for your loss and to hear that mama is sick as well. I was going to suggest maybe trimming mama's hair if the puppies are getting lost or tangled in her hair. |

Senior Yorkie Talker | :-) Thanks but I did shave her belly and trim her up a little. They are not getting lost in her hair, she is actually sitting on them while feeding them. They go so far under her to feed while she is sitting up then she lays down. Im too nervous to give them a chance to get out so Im always lifting her up to get them. I wish I wasnt so paranoid sometimes.. I will trim her hair some more..thanks

| Oh my. I hope all goes well. It only reinforces my opinion that I would not be cut out for this in any way, shape or form. My Lucy is too small to breed and has mild MVD so it would be out of the question anyway. But even if she were the perfect little speciman of a Yorkie . . . I simply could not do all this. I'm willing to bet that a whole lot of people don't know what they are in for when they breed that first litter! |

Senior Yorkie Talker | /// I agree with not really knowing what your getting into. A few people told me they had puppies and their doggy did everything themselves with no complications. You ALWAYS have to think of the worst that could happen. Even though Mom and puppies are all doing good right now, I would never do this again! I know something else is goin to happen..just what this time.. All puppies are growing an ounce or 2 a day. Momma is doing ok. Still very picky at eating and not eating a lot. Sometimes I have to push the food in her mouth so she could taste it before turning it away. Sometimes it works and she eats the rest. I am still sleeping next to them..day 12.. Im still so afraid something will go wrong. i havent had more then 4 hours sleep in 13 days.. Today my little Goldie opened her eyes!!! Only one so far but it is exciting..They are all trying to stand up and are getting stronger I am going to take individual phtots when they are 2 weeks old..this tuesday!! I plan on sending a photo album with the new owners of their puppy since birth.. Thanks for all the tips!!!

Senior Yorkie Talker | i know Yes, I agree but the 3 that are leaving us I will see often. One goes to my sister in law who has the father, the other 2 go to my dearest friends whom Ive known over 15yrs. I am keeping the Boy. I am going to enjoy the 9weeks of their lives all together.. but momma will see her pups every month or two..
