When I look on their black dog site, they say on there they are not 501.. So since they are not an accredited rescue how are they able to placed in the rescue section of petfinder? I just don't get how they are getting around that.

And the amount of dogs they have "placed" on there, are in the hundreds! I just don't get how people are able to get away with this kind of thing.

I doubt if anyone reports them, so many websites are handled automatically, and unless someone complains, nothing happens. I didn't even know that you had to be accredited in order to post there. Do they have a place to report ads?

When this came up the first time several of us reported it to Petfinder and nothing was ever done because they were "in the process" of filing a 501c3. The reason they can get away with this is because people are not informed and do not do their homework. She even asks for donations!

People rehome pets all the time. Some even go so far as to say they rescued dogs. Unless you are a legitimate rescue with a 501c3 then they should not call themselves a rescue.

Of course I did a little detective work back them and this is what I posted on the other thread.



The reason the thread was closed back then was because there was a link back to YT and Diane Fisher has a forum that she directed with all of the new "rescue" owners. So we watched and she became to tell these people to join YT and defend her. and they did! I even had the honor of one creating a SN Doodlebutt

So after all was said and done~YT found a new member and now a member of YHR RIPmyLilcase Jenny She joined to defend this rescue and saw what we all were talking about and joined YHR and is a foster home with us now. She even adopted one of her fosters

Now that there is a link back to YT again we will sit back and wait for the circus to begin again.

They are a most definitely a mill posing as a rescue. When Jenny adopted Teddy, she was instructed to meet in the parking lot of a McDonald's were a van full of dogs/puppies pulled up from this rescue. A couple of workers got out and started to collect money and pass out dogs. The entire parking lot was FULL of families all believing this was a legitimate rescue.

Rest assured there is NOT A LEGITIMATE RESCUE anywhere that will pull up with a van full of puppies and start passing them out to families! NO way in HE!! would this go on EVER!

Teddy is a puppymill cast off since he has a deformed hind paw/leg that is partially missing. After Jenny saw what a real rescue does she knew that she had been taken~not to say she loved him any less

oops..had no idea they had been a topic before. But I when I saw this thread I was looking at the 2 "cockapoos" on puppyfind and these people have come to my attention many times and they tick me off. Every time I see an ad from them I want to scream! I have always known they weren't a legal rescue or even trying too..

Now they say they must get rid of all these dogs and are almost giving them away. I posted a "review" on them telling people who they really are, (on puppyfind) but unfortunately they can remove it so they probably will.

I don't understand how they can get away with it for so long..

On petfinder? yes I believe so, I will check again but I am pretty darn sure they have to show their 501 status. At least they used to. I am going to go look now.. because you bet i will put in a complaint.

I am also marking them for fraud on puppyfind, they will remove them but they (these kind of "people") usually get back on with another account.

I know from past experience Petfinder will accept a rescue's ads w/o a 501c3 designation.

Let us know what you find out, maybe if enough people complain, they will change their policies.

Very sneaky, I'm surprised they didn't list their name as "Reputable Rescue." By the way, for those unaware, the "state licensed" is also misleading, all this means is that they have some type of license to say they can have so many dogs on the premises, it has nothing to do with their legitimacy as a rescue. This statement is probably true ,''Licensed rescue helping puppy mill dogs find homes", but extremely misleading. I mean Petland could say the same thing.

You are right.. But if they find out they are really brokers they will most likely boot them.. I found this:Animal Welfare Organization Registration - Petfinder

I am going to put in a complaint and show on their web site where they buy from puppy mills. Maybe if enough of us complain the will do something.

Petfinder says:
"If you are an organization without official non-profit status:

* A copy of your ADOPTION CONTRACT (not the application); AND
* A letter of reference signed by your primary veterinarian (on his/her letterhead) confirming that he/she provides medical care for the pets in your rescue and adoption program."

I have to say I am very disappointed in petfinder for this. Anyone could claim to be a rescue to sell pets with this rule..

I sent them a complaint, I am disgusted right now at petfinder for allowing these kind of people to join and post. They should only be accredited rescues imo..
