Expecting 7 puppies Hello, I have a 4yr old female yorkiw who is 40 days pregnant and a 3yr old boy who is not the father :-) . I am very excited for the little ones to come.:D |
Wow 7, that is a lot of puppies. How big was mom before pregnancy? Do you have many questions? Have you done your homework and researched whelping? Do you know what dangers to watch for? Are you prepared to supplement if you need to? Do you have all the necessary supplies on hand and ready? I wish you luck. keep us posted on the progress? And Welcome to YT |

This is my first along with hers. She was orginally a big yorkie weighing 15lbs. I have read so many sites and spoke with people who have breed before. Dont believe I will feel relieved until it is over. I am very nervous because of Gezell being a little over weight. I have most of the necessary supplies. I still have to get the whelping box and a few things. Any advice is welcome. My vet suggested a site called whelpwise.com have you heard of it? It is a monitor you put on the female that helps them and yourself step by step with birth. |
I have a 3yr old teacup, Cosmo, who is sick. His throat collapsed and is unable to have surgerybecause it collapsed too close to his heart. I wanted my female to have a litter for a couple of years but was unable to find a male yorkie since Cosmo is unable to breed. My sister in-law has a well breed Min-Pin. That is the father. I was told Gezell had a fertility problem a year ago and was unable to breed her. the Vet was wrong. I didnt expect 7 puppies..:animal36 but I pray all goes well. |

:) No, she did not sneak under the fence. It was planned not expecting to happen. Happy it did happen. Any advice on feeding during pregnacy? Its hard to control because of my llilttle dog, he is a hog.. :p |

First of all there are no teacup dogs of any breed. There is no teacup category, yorkies are in the toy group and they are all in the same group no matter, what the size. |

DO NOT give calcium, supplement while she is pregnant, you can give them to her after she whelps. How much did she weigh before she was bred.? Please go to this site and learn all you can to prepare yourself for the whelping. Dog Breeding and Canine Reproduction by Debbie Jensen. Dog Breeding and Whelping guide for dog breeders. |

elenita - the term "teacup" is just a marketing ploy. It's a way that a lot of back yard breeders and puppy mills will make more money - if it's a "teacup", they will charge more for it. It's saying nothing other than they used the smaller, and generally less healthy dogs for breeding. So you intentionally bred your yorkie with a min pin? |

There is not a "teacup" size-this is just a marketing ploy, and by knowing this, you will just be better educated about yorkies, than "other" people. Good luck to your little girl and all those pups. (Joey and Tank's mom - looks like we posted almost the same thing at the same time. LOL) |
Hi, If you really want to denote size when you are describing your baby, why not just say you have a tiny, or a tiny Yorkie. That's acurate. Just a suggestion. |

goodness...same words and everything! elenita - please know that I feel no animosity towards you, it's just that here on yorkietalk, if I can teach someone something that I have been taught on here, there will be more and more knowledgeable (sp?) yorkie owners! |

Yes, I did. I know many will not approve but it is done. I didnt think it would work because my Vet said she had irregular heat cycles and would be very difficult to determine when she is in heat. I had blood work done a year ago because I wanted to mate her with my lilttle guy. Good thing I didnt because he would of transferred his collapsed trachea to his pups. I was unable to find a male yorkie and we will have to put the little one to sleep soon:cry:. after watching her go through false pregnancy about 5xs over the years I really wanted her to have one litter. Im finding more and more info out and Im very nervous. The father is a well breed Min_Pin, my sister in laws dog. Even my Vet was surprised when he did the ultrasound. Any tips or info is more then welcome cs I am getting very nervous now. :) |

Assuming all goes well, what are you going to do with seven mixed breed puppies? I envision Yorkie and Min Pin puppies to look like red legged Yorkies. |

So you are correct, no harm done, except to the buyer who did not get what they thought they were paying for. |

:D :2smileys: lol that was cute |
I am new to this site also. This really upsets me that you intentionally bred your Yorkie with a Min-Pin, when there are tons of dogs in shelters and rescues. You are not breeding to better the breed, you bred her because she had false pregnancies?, why not get her spayed, instead? I hope every thing goes well with the birth. |
