| False Pregnancy Hi everyone, I breed Yorkies and my little girl just went through a phantom...after sleeping with her for a week I decided to take her to the vets. We are very fortunate that the vet is no more than a 5 minute walk. So I usually wait untill they go into labour and then do the xray. The reason being is that I find if I have the xray on day 57. then they always have the babies within 24hrs or so. So we wait and get those extra days in...this time on day 63?? lol we found nothing...now the question. Weight on,milk in nipples and generally acting preggy...gut feel I didnt think she was but I had to believe her. Now Biskit at home is acting like she is in season.I have a 14th month old little boy who thinks its christmas. Just now he mounted her and she ran away with him screeching. Would this be that her hormones are out of whack? or could this be another heat starting? My girls used to go 8 months but are now regularly 6 months between heats. She also seems a little over aggressive at times to him then flirts at other times to get him interested Any thoughts on this would be gratefully received Thx Janice |

| Now you say she's acting like she's in Season and she may very well be coming in. Boys seem to know way before they actually do. The fact that she's a virgin isn't helping the situation....these girls can be such little coquettes. But, based on her age....I'd keep her away from the boys....she's too young to breed at this point. But, when she does become the proper age, you will have to breed her to an experienced male and of course not allow the breeding to happen with out hands on assistance.

| Biskit Split Heat? Hi and Thank you for your repose and bump effort Sunnie. But not sure how in last mail I suggested Biskit a virgin or said how old she was ? Not the best tpyist in the world lol. Anyway her goes...Biskit has had 2 litters and it is Harley the stud who is the virgin. Biskit always went 8 mths and from 17th August 2009 it appeared she had a heat starting 6th in February 2010. Harley tried hard but no tie until 18th February..she acted as though pregnant but finally an xray and nothing. She had weight gain ,milk and altogether needy. Over the last few days she has been flirting with Harley...Yesterday they tied which lasted 15 minutes...I was on the computer, they were right behind me luckily was there to hold them,so as not to get Harley hurt or indeed scared for a later date.Got him in Belly bands now so as to monitor the situation a little easier. Ladies my question is ..does this sound like a split heat? Or any input gratefull received. I have bred 10 beautiful little puppies... all girls!! can u believe it ..not one male in that time from Biskit and Rosie. I run a small select breeding program but have never experienced this before. Thx in anticipation Janice |
