| I think it's way to early to tell. If there is a way to tell at this age I'd love to hear it! What are the parents like? |

| Too young at this point. (Cute pups though.) From my experience, I always first notice color breaking on the crown of their head, so that will be your first indicator. |

| New trick Bama.....look at the base of the back of the ear.....you know you're gonna have a silk if you notice gold coming in there....the gold will be every so visible.

| Each dog is different. What I don't like to see is a yorkie's head clearing at a too young, to me it's usually an indication that a dog may be too light. I don't like to see a dog bluing to young either....

With mine I've noticed if the dog breaks cotton white on the head it normally goes light. If it breaks a gray/white color it tend to retain a darker color. | |

| True, breaking to soon tends to go light. Another question, if a pup has a light tan coloring does it tend to go light or dark ?? Or does it make a differance ? I'm hold one of my female pups to see what she does. her tan is lighter then her brothers. Last edited by yorkiegirl2; 04-17-2010 at 10:05 AM. |

| Is this what you are talking about? First photo is with a flash, second is without. (Ears were shaved a couple of days ago because she still has one that doesn't want to stand 100% of the time).

| This pup appears to be a bit older. What I'm speaking about is when they are a bit younger. and cold just barely peaking through.
