| A few questions about pg mommies I have been gone for a while. I have a few questions if anyone can help me. Princess locked (tied) with my sons yorkie. They tied three times for quite some time at that. This visit was a surprise and she is in heat just stopped bleeding the day of or before my son arrived. Princess is 10lbs. not over wieght the vet said she is a bigger yorkie, I think she is silkie. I do not know what to do if she is going to have babies or what to expect. What do i need to buy if she is going to have babies, I am not into the whole selling them thing. Both parents are papered, if someone wants them they will pay for the shots and doc of tails etc. that is all someone would have to pay. I just dont belive in using my baby for money. If anyone has any useful helpful information it would be accepted. Thanks in advance. Beth and Princess |

| My suggestion would be to have her spayed, for many reasons. Breeding when you are not well informed about the breeding process poses a HUGE threat for your female. |

| There was NOTHING rude about my post. You asked for "any useful information" and I gave you my opinion on what I would do if I were in your shoes...short, sweet, no lectures or judgement. At no point did I say or imply that it was intentional and reading back over the ENTIRE post AGAIN, you didn't mention that either. Many people aren't aware that spaying is an option...how was I supposed to know the suggestion would offend you so? Last edited by BamaFan121s; 04-13-2010 at 07:11 PM. |

| Not wanting to start an argument but you said you think yours is a silky, but said she is registered. is she registered as a silky or a yorkie. here is a very good site for information. Fell free to PM me if you want to. Dog Breeding and Canine Reproduction by Debbie Jensen. Dog Breeding and Whelping guide for dog breeders. The gestation period is 63 days. learn as much as you can before her due date. |

| My advice is have her spayed as it's not too late and less expensive and will save you alot of worrying about your princess Donna |

| Your welcome. But, I would have to agree, based on your first post. I would have her spayed. Misty's post was not rude, simple and to the point. It may not have been the answer you wanted to hear. Based on your post that was deleted, you stated that this breeding was an accident. And yes, accidents happen. One tie is an accident, 3 ties is not. You don't have much time and your first post reveals that your knowledge on breeding/whelping is limited and that is the reason all have suggested that you should have your girl spayed. Breeding is a big responsibility; I don't think either your girl or your brother's dog have had all the required tests performed on them. There is a possibility that the pups that are whelped can be born with said genetic defects. I've said this time and time again. Breeding yorkies is difficult enough, but going in with little or no knowledge is taking a big risk. With the biggest risk being you may lose your girl.

| Sorry the advice given was not to your liking, but it was given with the welfare of your dog. There was nothing harsh or rude, but good advice. You have no experience....so, you'll have to take the responsiblity should anything happen.

| I don't think anyone was being holier than thou we honestly have your princess in her best interest...if I didn't I wouldn't be doing what I do with my precious yorkies...trust me I've had to make some difficult decisions regarding my yorkies but I've done it in what was in their best interest. I hope you do not leave and maybe step back and really understand that we are trying to help you and maybe you'll make the right decision regarding your precious princess..
