| Have you heard this one before?? i get a call today about my yorkie litter..wants to make a deposit in a couple of weeks..we talk back and forth..she then emails me this if he is not the color i want can i get a full refund? argh! i said no that i think he will be black n gold but grandmother on one side is blue and gold n grandfather on the other is also blue and gold then his grandmothers and parents are black n gold. that they can change color up to the first 3 years and thats one of the wonderful things with yorkies to watch them change i told her that i didnt think a yorkie was the right choice for her at this time and that i would be to concerned about his future with her. and that i want forever homes which is stipulated in my contacts.. told her good luck in her search... |

| Good for you!! So many people get a Yorkie for the wrong reasons. I mean I can see being particular about the color if you want a show dog. As for me I don't care if my Yorkie is purple and pink and green I love her just the same!!

| Way to go, Tammy I'm not sure I would have been quite as nice as you were. I have never had one ask that particular question before, but if I ever do my response would be very similar to yours. I am looking for permanent, forever homes for my babies with moms and dads who will love them at least as much as I do. |

| I haven't heard that one before! Geez! I agree if it's for showing, that makes perfect sense, but otherwise no! I don't understand how you could have a puppy for months and then if their color isn't what you want, could give the puppy back! I couldn't have given any of our puppies back after holding them, let alone months later!

| What difference does the color make in a pet? Isn't temperament the important thing. Unless you wish to breed or show. Makes me wonder what she really wanted the baby for. |

I agree. Chances are this person is not even thinking about showing, but just wants attention. I'm glad you're so careful and particular about what homes you place your babies in... so many people aren't!

| I just got emailed the same thing a little while back. Someone asking about Angel and her coloring and wanted me to guarantee her coloring. I told her the exact same thing you did. While I have a good idea of what she will look like I can't guarantee it, I am not God.

| My goodness--- wish I could say I'm shocked someone would even think of returning a puppy for not growing up the right color. You were right to pass on this home---would likely have brought a world of troubles. |

| I have had several people ask me that same question and I will not sell them a puppy either. A few I have found out months later wanted the pup for breeding and were lying. I always go with my gut instinct it almost always right. I have even told people who were coming to pick up a puppy and I just didn't get a good feeling when they were here that I could not sell them the puppy.Doesn't go over well but but the pup is my concern not there happiness. Being the breeder can be very hard sometimes but has many rewards. |
