Have you ever heard of SKC..States Kennel CLub..I know show breeders who showed SKC years ago also..gets them experince. Funny thing is...the names we are posting were novices and did not know the back from the front of a Yorkie at one time too..LOL

You've blown me away with your knowledge. Have been googling it can't find anything.....So, please give a history lesson.

Did the SKC International Club evolve from it or is anything still in existence?

I had to go back to look and see what my original question was LOL. It was about the discrepancy between Gordon's book and my pedigree info. Then the question about the "P" designation on Charged and Ready. I'm assuming it has something to do with AKC since the pedigree service uses their stud books to generate the pedigrees.

Actually, I have 2 dogs in Bonnie's ped. with the "P". The first one being Caraneal's Charged and Ready (her g.g. grandsire) and his son, Majestic's Major Attraction (her g. grandsire).

Charged and Ready is her g.g. grandsire off her father's paternal line and her g.grandsire off her father's maternal line. Also, he's her paternal grandsire's maternal g. grandsire, so he appears 3 times.

If I remember correctly..I attended 4 SKC shows. It was in Maryland in the late 70's ..I had a male I showed twice and just attended with a friend who showed the other two times. I had never heard of anything except AKC and was surprised to see several club members showing...they enjoyed the experince and so did I...

I looked back on the oldest AKC papers I have and the letters were TC...that is when most I know started..
Not sure about Woogie Man question...remind me the printing date on Joans book..I can look..IF I can find it..LOL

I am sooooo old I can remember when people even TIED a red ribbon around a top knot for the ring...no bows to buy!!

Now Pat you aren't as old as my mentor who is 83.....she tells me abou topknot ribbon being tied.

I'll have to ask her about the SKC, she was in poodles before yorkes and she's been in yorkies for about 45 years....But, who knows if I'll be able to get anything out of her.....her favorite line is "I can't remember this morning and you want me to remember back then"

That's exactly how my ped. reads, except mine doesn't say "AKC DNA". It just starts with the "P". Those with the numbers with the "V" do indicate it's a DNA #, however.

Thanks for confirming that. Since all my ped. info came from AKC stud books, I'm assuming that Gordon's book is incorrect in stating that Jubilee Eagle sired My Flying Colours at Jentre, since my ped. shows Montclair's Fly-By-Night to be the sire (my original question).

that lists the achievements of CeDe Higgens. Thought you might want to see it since it is one of the three descendents you were talking about and their accomplishments in the show ring.
