| ?? about whelping pudding Mom had 3 babies Wednesday morning (2/10),She snubbs dry kibble alone,so I've been mixing it with the whelping pudding,She LOVES IT,My question is could I be giving her too much pudding, usually 3-4 TBS with 1/2 cup kibble 3-4 times a day,I let her free feed on it as she will, also give her a scrambled egg once a day (sometimes I have to hand feed that), is it possible to give too much pudding any cons to that??Any info appreciated!!!! |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | I usually give my girls 2 servings of 1 tablespoon a day. one serving for lunch and one serving mix with her kibble before I go to bed. for breakfast I give her a scrambled egg mixed with some wet or kibble. For lunch she gets a teaspoon of cottage cheese mixed with her wet or kibble. don't forget to give her her calcium tab too.. |

| Thanks for the reply,I've been given her more than that, but its the only way she'll eat the kibble...do you think it could cause a problem,it don't seem like there's anything harmful in it plus she's getting what she needs from the puppy kibble. Also should I be giving her calcium tabs, even though she eats the scrambled egg everyday??If so whay kind? Thanks again! |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | I think is ok, as long as she does not get loose stools she should be ok, if she does add a teaspoon of 100% natural pumkin to her diet. as long as she is eating and drinking and getting her calcium she should be fine, how big is your litter? |

A Tablespoon a day is all that is needed Not unusual that she doesn't want to eat, you just have too do everything that you can to get her too eat. Try scrambling an egg.

Now keep in mind I alternate with cottage cheese, grated fat free cheese, and the post whelp that I give during and immediately after whelp: Evaporated Milk, equal parts of water, 1 tablespoon of Karo and 1 egg yolk.... and of course a scrambled egg a day. I know the picky eater thing after whelp, we become master chefs or a cafeteria getting them to eat

| Their little taste buds go all whacky. If she's having no stool problems I don't think that there is a problem with feeding her more.....everything in it is good for her.

| Thank You Very Much for your reply, just want to make sure she gets what her body needs, good balance nutrition even if I have to kinda trick her into eating it.She only had some soft stool 1-2days after whelp,I assumed due to placenta, but its been normal since. |
