| Breeder Says Yorkie Will Born Not Grow Long Hair! The breeder I am buying my Yorkie from said that the pups hair is not getting any longer like the rest of the litter. The puppie is 6 weeks old. Is this normal? |

| at 6 weeks it is still to difficult to judge anything...there are slow growing coats and fast growing coats. Some fast will look like a mop by 4-5 months and be a modified texture. Dont fret yet, if you know both the mom and dad are silk coast and she is a black and tan you should have nothing to worry about. My Mercedes is a very slow grower the pic attached is at about 12 weeks, and another at about 71/2 months she is now 9 months and even has more.

| My mom has 2 yorkies that have hair that basically looks like a puppy cut all the time. They are 8 yrs old now and full blooded sisters from the same litter. They have stayed jet black on their backs and red, red on the face, it's just that their hair never grew really long. Really, mom would tell you that she's just as happy with them with their hair short as if it had've grown out long...especially since she puppy cuts her dogs anyway.

| coat How short is it? Is it growing at all or is it like a short coated breed? For the breeder to noticed a big difference at 6 weeks coat length makes me think it may be a blue. Usually at 6 weeks pups in a litter are pretty much the same in coat length..some may vary a bit, but I never see much difference. |

| Breeder Says Yorkie Will Born Not Grow Long Hair! Sometimes the most silky pups take forever to grow hair. |

| Breeder Says Yorkie Will Born Not Grow Long Hair! My friend had a blue yorkie pup and it is shorter haired then most yorkies but soooo cute and healthy. The new mom gives it briewers yeast with omega 3's and it has a nice coat. Not very fast growing though |
