Uhm...I'm not going to tell you what I think of you. I don't think we should be at each others throats on a public forum, it's not right to everyone else reading. Good luck with your research, I hope everything works out for the best to everyone involved. :) |

elle57, I do hope that you will continue to come and ask questions. There really is a wealth of information here. Best of luck in your decision making. ;) |
I realized I made a mistake, hence me backing off. :) Good luck Elle. :) |
I may have been a bit harsh too. I see these threads every once in a while, the OP is determined to get the puppy, and even though multiple say red flag, don't buy the dog, the person continues to make excuses or shrug off all the information they are receiving because they want the dog anyways. I'm not saying that is what you are doing now, but in the beginning it was person after person saying it was probably a puppy mill and you just tried to believe otherwise. I hate seeing people make mistakes when they are so easily prevented. I don't know why you are still interested in this breeder, when you said she has them outdoors? If I was looking for a puppy, just one red flag and I'd look for a different one. There are so many breeders out there don't just settle on one since a puppy is cheap. |

Where in Arkansas is she located? |
elle57- First I want to say good luck in your search for a puppy! Secondly this does not look like a reputable breeder IMHO... I think what would be best to consider is if she is a BYB or Miller that by buying this pup you would be putting these poor things through more thoughtless breeding. Please consider looking for a better option. I really think you would be happier with a puppy from a breeder who really has their dogs as a part of their family. A breeder who has had these dogs under foot and knows everything about them. Maybe someone here on YT can suggest some good breeders in her area? I personally adopted my little girl. Have you considered going through a rescue? While puppies are cute and fun they are also a lot of trouble!!! Why not adopt an older dog who is already trained and through all the teething, neutering, and what not? I too feel it is better to approach things in a kind fashion however I do understand the other member's passion for the subject. You have to realize while not approached in the best way they really are just looking out for you. I hope you find the perfect pet for your home!!! Good luck and please think everything through completely!!! Good job coming on here to ask questions just try to look for the good in everyones advice. Happy New Year! |
I haven't adopted from her or heard of her but I would not adopt a yorkie or biewer from her when there are breeders who have yorkies and biewers that are the standard. Also when looking to get a new pet, don't let low prices pull you in. I would pay over 1000 to have a healthy pup than 400 and have a sick one that was kept in a outside kennel with no love or attention. I know you will find the puppy for you! Good luck! |
From searching online, looks like the breeder is in Van Buren, AR. I didn't find any reviews online or really any other info (in a cursory search) |
Here are a few links for you to check out Biewer Breed Club of America Inc. BBCA Biewer Breed Club Canada Welcomes you! Biewer Breed Club of America Rescue - Home |
JMHO, one red flag is enough to walk away. Were you given any references by this breeder to check? People who have bought from her? Call the Humane Society in her town and ask about the breeder. Call Animal Control and ask about her. Sounds like a lot of folks here told you the truth, don't buy a puppy for "cheap" because you will pay for it in the long run at the vet and with worry. Jan gave you some great referrals for finding the right puppy for you. |
Biewer and Yorkshire Haven. Good Afternoon! I trust you are all having a great day......at my expense. I am the PROUD owner and breeder of Biewer and Yorkshire Haven. It came to my attention that I had become the topic of conversation on Yorkie Talk. That is real interesting, because not a one of you even knows me or my dogs so you are not really at liberty to judge me, my dogs, my life or my motives. I have heard that I am a puppy mill. Yes, I do keep my dogs outside during the day when I am at work. They are in a heated and cooled building which is well insulated. Beds are also provided in each and every stall along with toys which are cleaned and sanitized. In addition they also have a radio playing Christian music all day. These "kennels' allow my dogs to be inside and outside in a covered area while I cannot be with them. They are never on a wire surface at any time. My puppies are kept in puppy play pens or in my bathroom with their moms. All of my moms are always inside the house and I am present when each and every pup is born. When my pups are born I weigh each one of them and assure that they are able to attach at eat. I free feed my dogs Royal Canin dog food. When my mom's are pregnant they get feed Royal Canin's starter food. When the puppies start eating they start out on the starter food and then transition to the Royal Canin mini breed puppy food. All of my dogs have access to clean water and food 24 hours a day 7 days a week. I guess if I am a puppy milll I should start using Old Roy and only offer it 2 times a day as that would be a great way to save money! My dogs all sleep in the house in the bed with my husband and I. Yes, I said in the bed. My dogs are very socialized and well loved. They are always inside the home with us when we are home. I am not as fortunate as all of you are to stay home all day and gossip on Yorkie Talk. I have to work to pay for my puppies, dogs, birds and horses. Oh yes, in addition I also have to care for my mom and grandma who have Alzeheimers. I guess to save money here I should keep them all outside as I am sure I would get a lot more sleep as the bed is very crowded. I also think it would save me time and money as I would not have to instantly clean up after them when they have accidents or get sick. Hey! Being a puppy mill sounds a lot easier...... My dogs are bathed with Oatmeal Shampoo and conditioned with Oatmeal Conditioner in addition to De Stuff conditioner for matts/tangles. Pet Edge is a great resource for that! This is done on a weekly basis. Sorry I do not have the time to do this daily, nor do I have the time to groom them daily or even weekly. I do brush my dogs, but I do not routinely tape their ears. Most of my adult Biewer dogs I have paid the usually $ 3,000-4,000 and their ears were not up when I got some of them. I guess I am to blame for that. As a so called puppy milll owner I guess it would have made more sense for me to have allowed dogs to have been shipped to me even with an overnight stay rather than taking off work and flying to Canada to pick them up and get home with them only being in a kennel for 7 hours. That would have been a lot cheaper not to mention I could have stayed at my job. The brushing of teeth. I guess as a puppymill owner I should stop this practice as well as I would not care if my dogs teeth and gums are healthy. The vet......yes, I have a vet with whom I use. I am even on his cell phone so when I call him at 3:00 am he answers saying "Hello Laura". I guess I should wait and call him during normal hours that would also be a lot cheaper. Is he related to me.....only because I have paid for that new building he is in. I wish he was related as maybe I would get some breaks on the cost of shots, declawing, docking, c-sections, heart worm test, microchipping and all of the other cost associated with caring for your animals in a responsible manner. Selling a Biewer puppy for $600.00 dollars. Now I realize that is dumb. I really should have sold him for a couple of thousand and disregarded his blue eyes. I am sure as a puppy mill owner I would not have thought twice about doing this even though it is a genetic defect. No I had to be stupid and think about what is best for the breed and this individual puppy so I am selling him for an inexpensive cost with registration papers to be delivered upon proof of his neutering. FYI: He is registered with BYA and they do not allow limited registration. Yes, I admit I do allow my dogs to breed, but as a puppy mill owner I guess I should start breeding them every time they come into heat rather than every other heat cycle. This way I can double my profits and you know who cares about the health of the dogs anyway. Gosh as a reported puppy mill owner I really do need to get smarter there is so much more money to make…. Hey to whoever said I have a slick website. Thanks I work hard at that. I guess I should also get rid of my website as that cost money, not to mention time. I guess I should thank all of you for your suggesting I am a puppymill and do not care for my animals. I could save a lot of money with your ideas and suggestions. Yes, I am being very sarcastic......I cannot believe that everyone does not have more productive things to do with their time and energy. Did you know that positive actions results in positive reactions. I always thought this website was about helping people get useful information and advice. I guess I was wrong. It seems it is more about running everyone else down. To give advice about how to select a breeder, a puppy, a vet is a great and needed thing. To blasphemy someone you have no firsthand knowledge with is not productive. What if one of you had contacted me and spoke with me and offered to assist me if you think I am messed up. No, it is easier to speak negatively and judge. At least if that was being done in court I would have had the opportunity to defend myself and be judged by a jury of peers who had all of the evidence. To be continued.... |
