Breeders, and Worming

Thanks for all of the information and recommendations! My Bella has never had worms. It really makes sense that I WOULD NOT bring them to the vet every two weeks and possibly introduce them to Parvo. I have not brought Bella to any dog parks or anything like that. I LOVE THIS SITE!!!!

You can de-worm the puppies at home, safely , using PYRANTEL, that is the active ingredient, Pyrantel based de=wormers are found on the grocery store, pharmacy, pet stores and are very safe, the dosage is small and you can buy the liquid and de-worm your babies to be sure you are doing all your best.

Another more broad de=wormer that is very safe is PANACUR-C or SAFEGUARD, you can find the second one at petstores and it is safe to give to preggo moms, even for 10 days at a time or 30 days, it is very safe and also gets rid of Gyardia.

It is nice to De-worm mom and babies every other week after 2 weeks of age. I know some breeders do it differently than others and that will be a decision you will need to make on your own.

I do mine with Pyrantel and sometimes i do 3 days of panacur just before sending them home.
Again, every breeder is different and you have to do what you feel comfortable with.'

Anyways, if you de=worm the puppies at home it is wise to bring them to a last vet check and do a fecal before sending them home.
