Gez, I hate to give you advice on this one. We had so much trouble with Mia that we literally tried anything and everything - but she did have teeth.

Royal Canine is fine - we did use that (along with a dozen others) but we had problems with Mia's poop staying firm so after a very long trial and error - we have ours on Science Diet - which I wouldn't suggest unless you're having problems with him later on.

I'd just make sure whatever you give him is for puppies & small dog bites.

I hope someone else will come on and give you some better suggestions.

Actually shots should be given until 8 weeks....prior to this time, it surpresses mother's immunities. 8 weeks 12 wees and 16 weeks

He's a pretty lil guy. I'm so sorry you're going through this.

at 8 weeks she STILL IN THE WRONG, that baby still belongs with his mother, I still think she is not a good breeder.. Glad Winston is doing better, just keep an eye on him, like you been doing and follow must of the recomendations you got from the great people here.. I personally use Solid gold dog food, when Prada was a puppy I used..Hundchen Flocken Puppy by solid gold, I use it with my litters and send my puppies home with it. My adults eat solid gold wee bits..

I start my pups on Royal Canin weaning formula....graduate to Puppy 33. But, if you saw the concocation I put together......Mmmmmm, you'd think I was nuts. But, my pups thrive on it.

MY Chachi still didnt have his teeth at 6 1/2 weeks so I dont think that is always a good indicator of age. He looks 8 weeks old to me

thanks..i literally feel like i did when i brought my daughters home as newborns.. ;) my girls are a little upset that they cant interact with him like they want to, they didn't understand at first that he was sick, they were expecting him to be doing more considering we all thought he was older than he really is

Actually, vaccinations shouldn't be started until about nine weeks. Up until then, puppies still have antibodies from nursing which block the vaccines. That vaccination will have to be repeated when he is older.

In one study of a cross section of different puppies the age at which they were able to respond to a vaccine and develop protection covered a wide period of time. At six weeks of age, 25% of the puppies could be immunized. At 9 weeks of age, 40% of the puppies were able to respond to the vaccine. The number increased to 60% by 16 weeks, and by 18 weeks of age, 95% of the puppies could be immunized.

Well the time will pass before you know it. Even at 8 weeks of age, he would have been much to young to be played with. At 12 weeks they still require a lot of rest.....

I start with the RC baby dog formula #30 then go to #33 at 10 weeks and that is what I send them home with.
