| Donating YT 4000 Club Member | yes, it sounds like a uterus infection or tear, some vets do the oxy shot after birth, I do the red rabsberry leaf tea,for after whelping uterous clean up, it helps expelled anything left inside mom, I too take her temp once a day just to make sure she is ok, for the week after babies are born.. also I monitor her discharge for changes in color, texture and smell. after whelping care is as necessary as pre and during pregnancy care. sending prayers for your girl and you.. hugs, Carmen in nj |

| What is your vet saying? Does he/she have any idea of what is causing this? I'm so sorry, and you and your pups are in my prayers. I hope everything is okay.

| Any updates from the vet? I pray momma and babies will be okay. In my 13 years of raising yorkies I have only had one get a uterus infection and we nearly lost her. She ended up getting a blood transfusion in order to save her. |

| I took Cinnamon to the vet along with the babies at 9:30 yesterday morning. She immediately was admitted and was put on IV fluid. Her temp reached a high of 105.6 which concerned everyone. They had her on clarimox and then stared rimidyl which started to bring the temp down. Due to her nursing everything had to be given orally as all the iv meds were not good for nursing. We got home at 8:00 last nite and her temp is down to 103, Thank God. Even during how sick she is she nurses those babies. The are starting to get their little bellies, and are nice and content. We are going back this am for more iv fluids to be safe. Mom is eating and drinking. You know it is tough, this is only her second litter but makes me feel so bad now. Thank you guys keep you posted. nancy |
