I hope everything is alright. It sounds like you are going to have puppies by tonight. |

And as far as having puppies tonight, I don't know. She's fooled us already, she'll probably do it again. Right now, she's still spending most of her time in the closet. She's now adopted two stuffed animals and has a little "nest" set up there. She's taking excellent care of the toys, hopefully she'll be able to do the same for her babies, lol. She's only panting here and there now. Other than that, that's all that going on, other than her temp. being low. ??? We can only hope. |
Halle had several of the signs you speak of during the night before she had little Oscar; nesting especially & gagging once. The next morning she seemed a little "off", but still ate most of her breakfast. By 9am we could tell she was in early labor with constant pacing, unable to stay in one place for long and frequent trips to the potty pad to TRY to potty. She had her puppy about 2pm that afternoon. Sounds to me that she might not be fooling you this time. Good luck to you both. |
Ok I am confused.. I thought a temp below 98 was a sign of labor. I got that from Debbie Jenson's website. |

Now for an update, it's still pretty much the same as this morning. Just a little while ago she was licking herself for a while, so I checked it to see some discharge/liquid coming out. There was even a little wet spot left behind on the carpet. Now, I don't know if this is her water breaking or not, because it was hardly more than a small spot on the carpet. Since then, she's gone back to the closet, dug around in some blankets I have in there, and now she's just napping. |

Oh yes, our closet is very roomy; I could fit a small bed in there if I needed to. I've made sure that it's very accessible. :) And I have everything ready, especially the tools needed to cut the cords- two hemostats, alcohol for sterilizing equipment, bedatine for end of umbilical cord, scissors, sutures to tie off the cords (which my vet recommended since they're sterilized). I've got lots of towels, unprinted newsprint, heating pads, a box to transfer puppy(ies) while momma is delivering another puppy. And I'll also have the whelping pudding on hand for Maya when whelping is done. I've got my clock in the room, scale, notepad and pens for taking down weights and times born. I can't think of anything I'm missing for now. I think we're pretty ready for this show to get on the road. :) C'mon Maya, we're waiting... |

Still no signs of labor over here, but she's quite attached to her stuffed monkey. She's been pacing back and forth with it. Weird. |
I am headed to bed for the night. I hope that everything goes well for you. Try to get some rest if you can. |
hi.. I don't know anything about this but I am so intrigued and ready to see what happens next... come on sweetheart you can do it!!!! ;) |
