One thing, I've yet to see Betty (Moon Valley) address is, whether or not she is indeed a commercial kennel. Do you have a USDA license and the number of dogs listed in a another post? Do you deny the USDA inspection report?

To me, it doesn't matter how clean and well run a commercial kennel is, it's STILL A COMMERCIAL KENNEL. The dogs are bred only for profit and it's sickening to think of the poor innocent dogs and their horrid lives.

I truly hope anyone who did this has healthy puppies but please don't brag that a puppy was 'bought' at a flea market - that's terrible for any dog to be sold like that. They have no vet care and I don't care who says they do - they don't. Every single person I know that made the mistake of going to a flea market ended up with very sick dogs - ESPECIALLY dogs with PARVO !

I don't really like to get into this stuff, but I had contacted Grayson's Kennels a few months ago because I was interested in a puppy on their website. I emailed for more information about the puppy and pictures of the parents since they were not on the website. I got an extremely rude email back that said he would NOT take the time to send pictures of the parents and that I must only be interested in the look of the dog and even if he did send pictures, how would I know that was truly the parents. I was completely flabbergasted! (Not sure if that is spelled right :rolleyes:) We had a few more not-so-nice emails back and forth, but I was just shocked that I would be seen as a horrible person because I wanted to see pictures of the parents. Anyway, I am not saying that this is a horrible place, because I don't know, I just thought it very strange you would talk to someone like that.

While she may or may not have a usda license the state of Tennessee defines a commerical breeder as one who owns 20 unaltered females for the purpose of breeding and those breeders are licensed through the state.

To be quite frank...I don't need a definition of commercial breeder. 56 dogs speaks volumes in itself.

I am totally opposed to anyone mass breeding dogs and especially with Yorkies living in a kennel situation. They are companion dogs and I don't care how clean or neat a kennel is, it is not the right thing for a Yorkie.

When I first posted on this thread I followed the link to Moon Valley Kennels and on this person's website was the AKC Inspection Report because as she says "they have nothing to hide". I just went to the website again and it has been removed but I had saved it and have attached the report.

I am also totally against donating puppies to any cause. Who knows what kind of people win these bids...they could be the greatest or not so great but reputable breeders are always very concerned what home their dogs go into...this is also posted on their website.

I am totally confused...first you say you have been to the kennels and then you agree with Jen on commercial breeders. When someone has the number of dogs they have and they live in a kennel then they are commercial breeders.

FYI BCH Girl - The little girl is nowhere old enough to breed it and it has already been determined that she will not be a breeding dog due to the fact that she will not be big enough which is also stated in the thread.

I agree that these type of issues have a place to be debated at and it should not be on YT BUT UrbanAlbino is defending herself as her and her family are being personally attacked. Why is it OK for someone to have 5 posts, create multiple accounts, and get on here and blantently start a thread to stir up trouble when Urbanalbino has been on YT for a very good while, a donating member, and look back in her stats - she has never stirred up trouble like this.

The tilte of the thread is Beware Breeder. This guy has as many dogs as as Urbanalbino's Mother's kennel AND he sold them @ the Flea Mkt until they kicked him out. They have never sold dogs at the Flea Mkt. I have yet to receive an email from the poster who said this with any proof. Believe me he is loving all the heat on them. It is working out just as he planned.

Let me make it very clear...I AM AGAINST VOLUME BREEDERS and if you go to Stephens kennels he doesn't even list his adults...what is he hiding and where are the kennels he is so proud of? He has learned Marketing 101 and of course I am sure he is very nice on the phone...

My arguement on this whole thread is, these are volume breeders.....

Also YT is the perfect place to debate this to find out who is a "reputable breeder" or someone that cares about the dogs...The more we can educate people what to look for then the better off this breed will be.

I just posted about the response I got a few months ago when I contacted Grayson Kennels about a puppy. Why would you make it such a big deal if someone wanted to see the parents of a puppy? I didn't even put everything that was said to me. All over asking for a picture! Very odd.
