Haha, I think we are getting all mixed up now. But yes he is hydrated and I will keep checking on him. I have the liver broth and will keep giving that to him. He seems to accept it nicely and he is still quite active in the whelping box so hopefully he will strengthen up and be ok. I've got everything crossed for him!

I read it correctly and did reply that it was good that he felt hydrated. However, if he's lost nearly half his body weight, there's a real issue. It may be that he's just getting pushed off the teat and not getting enough food. The beef liver broth is very good..also the syrup to boost his blood sugar. You can also try giving him some time alone on the teats to make sure he gets his fill. Pedi-lyte can also be given to boost his electrolytes (though it's no substitute for food).

He wont stop crying, I just dont know what to do. He seemed to be getting a bit better but now I think he's getting worse. I really want all this to be over with

This is heartbreaking.

I'm sorry for such a late reply, but I am afraid I do not bring good news. Not only did we lose this little guy, but 4 others. There is only one boy left now. Him and his sister went to the vets today and spent the day there. They had only been home an hour or so and the little girl passed away. The remaining boy seems to be doing strong so I will keep you updated on his progress and hopefully we can get this little guy up and running.

I am so sorry. I had the same thing happen recently with a litter of kittens and it was heartbreaking. I lost all of them but one. We named her Miracle. You did everything you could. Baby animals are just so fraile and vulernable

Oh my! I am so sorry! That's the hardest part about being a breeder, in my opinion. Did the vet say what was wrong?

All the vet has said is that angel has a slight infection in her mammary glands and it is likely she had a lack of calcium from being such a small dog.
