| We lost our Miracle Well today (Friday) went from bad to worse. It all started by me getting a call that a person my family knows was flight for lifed to grand juntion this morning, she fell and hit her head in a parking lot. On top of that I had a bad feeling that something was not right with my girl. To make a long story short, I brought my girl with my to pick up my son. I didnt want to leave her home alone as she was on day 64 from her first tie. I'm glad that I did bring her. She started out with a temperture drop last night, but it was back to normal this morning. She wasn't acting to unlike her self, except she was being protective of her bed. So I wasn't too concerned at that point about her being in labor. She went in hard labor at 5:15pm (no symptoms of the begining of stage 1 labor that I could really notice), I rushed her to the after hours vet, got there in 20 minutes. She started to push out the sack 10 minutes from the office and five minutes before we got there she had burst the sac (unknown to me at the time, I was still driving to the clinic). Once we were situated in the room for her to finish her labor I notice her contractions but there was no sac. Ran and got the er vet on duty (he didn't check her when she came in, he later apologized and said he should have), the puppy was breech and there was a blue foot coming out. He rushed my girl to do a c-section. She came out great! Her little one had to have CPR done on it, it had no heart beat and wasn't breathing. It came back to life (a miracle!) after drowing for 20 minutes. It was a little girl, she lived for about 3 hours and then died after having respitory arrest. I'm glad that I followed my gut and didn't try to whelp her at home. I could have lost both of them if I had. We are all home, my girl is doing well with some pain from the surgery, my kids are fast asleep in bed, and the little girl I called Miracle will be buried tomorrow. I'm gonna go to bed with my girl (sleeping on the floor by her) and I pray that the rest of the litters in October have a safe whelp. My prayers are with you all.

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | I am so sorry to hear this. Losing new babies has got to be so hard; even more so when it's just a singleton I would think. I will keep you and your girl in my thoughts & prayers.

| I'm so sorry for you and for your girl. She must be so sad. When my girl lost hers, we cried together for two nights. Then one of the other girls whelped 5 puppies and I gave one puppy to the one who had lost hers. She was sooooooooo happy to have a baby to take care of. Tears are running just writing about it. It is heartbreaking to see them grieve. |

| She didn't want to be left alone last night when we finally got home. I slept on the floor with her until 5am. My back couldn't take it anymore. I tried to take her outside to see if she would potty and she just cried cause the other dogs we smelling her. So after her pain medicine at 9 I will take her out seperatly to try to potty. She is doing well otherwise. I'm thankful that she isn't looking for the puppy. The vet put the puppy with her last night and my girl was being a good mommy they said she was licking it and pushing it towards the tit, but that poor little girl just couldn't hold on. Thank you for the prayers and well wishes everyone.

| Thank you everyone! It was hard to lose her, but this is something that happens when we breed dogs. I'm taking this as a learning experience and moving forward with my program. I'm hoping that with future momma's I have have safe whelps, but sometimes the cards have to fold. I'm having the kids help me paint the box so she is buried in something created with love. It makes me want to cry when my girl hears my 6 month old baby girl cry. She starts looking around and then whining as if to say "I miss my baby girl." So for less stress on her I have had to stay out of my bedroom with my daughter. Its so sad to see her in pain, and to be in pain from losing her girl. But she is tough and I know she'll pull through!
