| pregnant for sure well my little lady was a bit tense she hates the vet she must remember getting her shots, the vet said she could feel at least 1 puppy and i have to bring her back for an ultrasound scan on sat morning at 9.30am to see how many puppies there are, she said maggie was very healthy ( and beautiful lol but i already knew that) so i just have to get ready now for the big day and get all the things she needs to make sure all goes well i'm nervous for her but the vet gave me the 24 hour number just in case something might go wrong ( god forbid) |

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | Congrats on the postitive confirmation of pregnancy for your girl! How exciting for you. How far along is she? I have heard that ultrasounds are great for confirming pregnancy, but not totally accurate with a puppy count, especially in a larger litter. An x-ray done a week prior to her due date will give you a better indication of a head count as well as for determining their sizes in relation to the dams birth canal. Good luck to you!

| yes i have heard that also i will get an xray too, i am excited she is a beautiful wee dog and a sweetheart, the vet said if it's only 2 or 3 it would be ok for the ultrasound but i'll still get an xray just to be sure thanks |

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | That xray is important--it lets you know if the puppies are in the right position for birthing. I wait until day 60 too do the xray--as close to her whelping day as possible. |

Well congrats on the soon to be grandson! That is wonderful news also. I agree about the xray..it is a wonderful piece of information the day of whelp you will know how many to expect. We had 5 puppies and I never would have guessed that many but we had an xray to show us. I was really glad when Bella Mia took a break during whelping between puppies 2 and 3. We knew she still had 3 more to go so we prepared to help her or get her to the vet if she didnt finish whelping but hse did. CONGRATS again great news about puppies and baby!
