| Let's talk numbers.... What is the average size litter a Yorkie has? Then what is the biggest litter that you have heard of that healthy puppies were delivered?

| Just based on my experience, I would say the average would be 4 puppies. I think someone on yt had female that had 12 puppies but they did not all make it but a lot of them did. The most I ever had in a litter is 7 and they all made it. |

| What are the size of these females that are giving birth to 5+ yorkies?? The most I've ever had is 2.

This is why when breeding your female you need to take her size into consideration, it's not only determining how many she may concieve but, is she big enough to carry a litter of 5, does she have enough room in there to allow the pups to grow.

| Most of my breeding females are between 7 and 9 lbs. Gigi is 6 lbs and she recently had 4 pups. I am guilty of keeping my girls a little on the cubby side. I would rather have then a little overweight prior to breeding because they can loose some weight during pregnancy. Usually mine will gain weight after having a litter because I really feed them a lot while they are nursing. |

| Lexi has had 4 litters and they have been 6,6,7, and now 8. She is 7 pounds not PG and carried the 8 puppies to 63 days.
