:cry8: Oh Elyse, I am SO sorry! I know that there is nothing I, or anyone can say that will make you feel much better right now, but you have to know that you did everything you possibly could & what happened was not your fault. It is good to hear that Roxie is okay; I wish I could give the both of you a big comforting hug right now. Since I can't, take comfort from Roxie & do the same for her to help each other get through this sad time. :cry8: |
Oh, my goodness, I'm so sorry to hear this. I know you're inconsolable right now. How is Roxie doing? Does it seem like she's still in labor? I only ask this because sometimes there may be a pup hiding in there. I would take her to the vet to have her checked out. With such a difficult labor, she could have damaged her uterus and, even if not, she should be checked out and given an oxytocin shot to clean her out. This is so sad. Prayers to you, Roxie and her little man. RIP, little one. |
OH my goodness I know you have been waiting for this with such excitement and love. I am sorry for your and your baby's lost. I am sure you and Roxy did all you can.I feel so badand know youfeel bad as well. I will keep you in my thoughts and pray for you and Rox.You keep close with her for comfort for both. Christina |
I am just now seeing this. I am so sorry you lost the baby. I do pray momma will be okay. |
Thank you everyone. I know things could have gone even worse and the puppy could have gotten stuck, and they both could have died. I'm glad Roxie is ok but I am heartbroken over the loss of her baby. Jim, Roxie is acting like her normal self. She doesn't appear to be in labor at all, in fact I haven't seen her this energetic in weeks. I don't think she realizes her pup has passed away. She ate the placenta, should I still take her in for the pop shot? |
I, personally, would still take her to the vet today to get her checked out . . |
I would take her in for the shot. I am glad she is acting normal and has not noticed I think it is better for the both of you. CHristina |
I'm so sorry for your's and Roxie's loss. Please take care of both yourselves. I have you all in my prayers. |
I don't always take my girls in for the shot but in your case I absolutely would. Not just for the shot but to have her checked out overall. Roxie's labor diidn't seem to be normal and I would be concerned that she might have a rupture in her uterus. I hope that she is fine but, if something were to be wrong, she could go downhill fast. Jim |
Okay. I will definitely be taking her in this afternoon. Is there anything I should do to help her milk go away? Or will it just happen on it's own? I don't want her getting mastitis or anything now. |
I'm so sorry for the both of you. I wish that things would have went differently. You are both in my thoughts and prayers. |
I just read this post....So sad. :( I cannot imagine what could have happened. God knows what is best for all creatures big and small. There may have been a health reason that you could not see that made the furpuppy pass away. My heart is breaking...I know that you did all that was humanly possible so please do not beat yourself up:hands: My prayers are with you and Roxie |
I agree with Jim. That labor did not appear to be normal from the get go. I wish some of us had been on here when you needed us. Sorry we weren't and i am so sorry for your loss. |
Oh I'm so sorry! I just had this happen with 2 different litters. I worked and worked. I know how sad it is :( I'm sorry for your loss. Quote:
