| Question for Breeders? Ok, so we went camping all of last week of July. I didn't notice any different behavior from my female and male (they were the only two up there not spayed or neutered). Well the dogs stayed in my mother in laws camper and stayed with us in the tent for two nights. What I am finding weird is Raeley never showed any signs of going into heat. There was no swelling and she was still about three weeks away from starting her next heat. It comes down to Saturday night and BAMMM she is swollen, no bleeding yet at least as far as I can see. She never left my side and if she did it was only to play with female dogs of my in laws. Her and Riley mostly sat in my friends Aspen's lap by the fire. Sunday as we are getting ready to get loaded in the truck for the drive I stick her in her carrier. It wasn't till half way home the my hubby hit a good bump and it scared her so she jumped into my lap. I put her back in her carrier and she jumped right back into my lap. This would be August 2 and when she is sitting in my lap calmed down a bit I notice there is blood on my carrier. I checked her all over thinking she cut her foot on a rock or something, and then I check her vulva. BINGO!!! She is in heat. So I count that as her first day of bleeding. Fast forward to Thursday and she is flagging for my male when they have supervised play time. That would make it 5 days from the first sight of bleeding. So my question is has any other breeders females flagged that early for a male? Not one of us holding Raeley had gotten blood on us at all during the camping trip so this has really thrown me off. I know that I can't be off more than 1 day from the bleeding. During her first heat she didn't start flagging till day 9. So I'm just a little thrown. Coty

| Yes, females often will start flagging soon after they come in heat. My girls starting flagging and humping each other sometimes the whole time they are in heat. Some females will even accept a male very early in their heat cycle and others will flag and tease a male but will sit as soon as the male starts getting serious about breeding. I generally like to introduce the male and female on the 9th day of the heat cycle. |

| She is being a little tease. She will stick her rear end in his face and once he is ready to get down to business she will sit down. Well give or take a day I did breed them on Monday so that would have been the 9th day. I will breed them again tomorrow, and then on Friday. She is really getting after being that tease today. When I am supervising playtime their both covered, but its getting pretty comical. Can't wait till my husband sees it. He's been in Grand Junction the past two day. Thanks again BJH! Your always so helpful!
