| Feeding Puppies Mush We have tried to feed our 4 week old puppies dry crushed kibble and they have not been intrested. Today they are 5 weks old and I tried something different. I mixed the dry kibble with a little bit of wet food and water to make a mush. All but 1 of the puppies LOVED it. My question is today was the first day they actually ate the puppy food. How much should I let them eat and how often shall I offer it?

| I would continue to leave out the ground up dry food and just mix them up some mush a couple times a day if you feel better doing it that way. I always just wean mine on the ground up dry food. It takes them until they are about 6 weeks old before they are eating a lot of it. I always let my pups continue to nurse momma until they are at least 8 weeks or older. I let the momma decide. |

| I was mixing up puppy mush for my 4 week old Biewer puppies and I happened to have homemade chicken broth on the stove. I mixed puppy formula and instead of mixing it with water I used some room temp chicken broth and then added the puppy food that I had ground up in the blender to the chicken broth/puppy formula mixture. OMG they love it and I even enjoy watching them eat it. I purchased the puppy formula at PetSmart. It says it has colustrum in it. That is the only kind they had when I went to buy it. |

| They pups are actually loving the mush now. They are even trying to eat mommas dry kibble when they can get to it. I am giving them the dry kibble in between the mush as they all have their little razor teeth in now. Momma isnt too happy about nursing but she still does a couple times a day.
