Help, Kiko giving birth So here's the situation. She already give birth to 3 puppies and there are two more in her stomach. The first two came out okay but the third one is really weak. Kiko try to bite off the cord but she bit it too much so she pull out the intestine on the third pupppy. However, the third puppy is getting stronger even though there's a whole on its stomach. Now Kiko is sleeping because she's really weak but there are two more puppies in her stomach. I don't know how to handle the situation, please hlp.

I am so sorry no one was awake to help you last night. I am afraid the little one with the intestines out will not make it unless you take it to the vet immediately and even then they seldom make it. How are things going now? Just for future knowledge, most breeders cut the cord themselves when the momma is whelping to prevent accidents like what happened to your puppy. I pray your momma and babies do well.

thank you for all your concerns. Unfortunately we can't find a 24 hours vet near our place so one of the puppy didn't make it this morning. Kiko delivered the rest last night so four made it and one didn't. It was very sad to see Kiko look for the puppy when we took it away. The 4 puppies are healthy but Kiko seems tired and breathing hard and fast. We feed her boiled chicke and gave her a lot of water so hope that help her with her energy.

Good to hear they are all born now. Sorry about the loss of one, but at least it is over for your girl and the babies. Praying they continue to grow healthy and the mom feels better soon.

Sometimes they will pant a little after whelping for a couple of days. This is the uterus contracting but if she is panting really hard, you still need to get to the vet. Did all the placentas come out? next question, do you have any TUMS on hand, if so break it up and give to her if she is still panting hard. Or vanilla ice cream. That's the way my girl did that had pre-Eclampsia right before the babies were born. if I had not had TUMS, she would have died before the vet opened. Sorry you lost one but conratulations on the others!
