| Pregnant Mom past due My Yorkie is past two days. Her temp dropped down to 97.8 two days ago but has gone back up. The last two days she has been nesting day and night. Today she had a bowel movement and starting panting off and on for about a half hour.It stopped for a few hours then had another bowel movement and the same, starting panting again then stopped. Has anyone have this happen before? This is her first litter and i am afraid the longer she waits the bigger the pups the harder to pass. She is 6lbs and the father 3. The xray showed 3 pups. I am gonna take her to the Vet in the morning if she hasnt delivered. If anyone has any info please e mail. When i breed her mom i never had this problem' Worried Mom Gina

when you say your mom is 2 days past due, that may not actually be true. Remember they deliver 63 days from when they ovulate, which means you don't actually know that specific date. So if she tied with the male more than once, and I suspect she did, she probably took on one of the later breedings. If she has not gone into hard labor, which is actually contractions and pushing, then you have nothing to worry about at this point. If this is her first litter her body is going through changes that she is not familiar with, and as she is getting closer she is starting to get anxious herself. Don't stress too much, they can sense when we're stressed and it makes them upset. If she is not pushing and you see no contractions, I would take a deep breath and an eye on her. She will have them when she is ready.

She may be in stage one, that could be the cause of the on again off again panting.
