Finding the perfect yorkie Hey I am newbie here and very interested in getting a yorkie baby soon I came accros two sites that are breeders bit I need a little help Which site do you guys think it will be better to getting my pup from:) Site #1 Home Site #2 Breeder of Yorkshire Terriers in Montreal, Quebec, Canada Thankss;) |
Welcome to YT!!! Hope you find your new baby soon.:) |
I would go with site #2. They are well known reputable breeders. Site #1 is nothing but someone 'in it" for the $$$$$$$$$$$. Red flags are: t-cup, morkies, shorkies, mulitple breeds. |
I agree! Site #2 is the one I would choose as well. |
Hi thanks you guys and keep on posting,Can you guys explain your choice as why1 or 2 is better thanks:) |
No doubt about it! Debbie (Squirrel Yorkies) is a very reputable exhibitor/breeder with beautiful, healthy, well cared for Yorkies with fantastic pedigrees. If you can get one from her, consider yourself very lucky! The first site...no way! |

I would most certainly go with Debbie (site 2) of Squirrel Yorkies. She is very reputable and really cares about her dogs and the breed and loves her them very much. By your heading you are wanting the perfect yorkie and while there is not a perfect dog/yorkie, you will have a much better chance of getting that special baby from Debbie. The first site - had way too many red warning flags!! One photo was not very nice. |
I agree with picking the second site. Problems with the first site: -They first of all do the thing that i hate the most by saying they sell T-cup size dogs. The word small would suffice. -They speak as if anything over 6 lbs would be less than quality in a dog. - They are charging ridiculously expensive prices for their "hybrids" which will not have papers because they are not reconized by the akc. To me, number 2 seems like they have a lot more experience with their pups and all around more educated. |
I see show breeder giving great reviews... well I was not and am not..I would never deal with this breeder .... I got a dog from her.. was told she has all her shots.. she got parvo... big bucks to keep her alive... and she was such an aggresive darling girl.. my daughter had to take her.. she wanted to kill the two yorkies I had at the time.. I was called an idiot by this breeder Debbie (Squirrel Yorkies and if I said anything she would take me to court... very threatening and very intimidating to some people.. Not to me.. she was spayed.. and never did receive papers.. I have been told by show breeders I should still report the fact that I had her spayed.. in fact a co breeder of hers at the time.. took this girl to her vet to have her spayed.. so what better proof of a spay.. But show breeders do not usually get burnt like a person looking for a pet... anne |
Nice looking dogs.. But after looking at her contract... I wouldn't buy one from her. |

I would think this breeder that worries so much about her yorkies not being spayed.. should maybe do like many and sell them spayed or nuertered then she would not have to worry.. that is my take on that comment.. but in my case we had this girl spayed and then no papers and she is 5 years old.. we got her at 6 months.. but mostly many do not get as much money if they pay for a altering.. but many good breeders have no problem doing so... |

From what I read The dog does not really belong to you until the spay/neuter is completed. Say the dog gets loose and gets pregnant. She wants 5000.00 and you have to give the dog back. I just think if one is so worried about the spay and neuter part they need to keep it longer and have it done before the dog is placed. It's not a contract I would agree to and I don't know of many other's that would either. |
I would find another breeder. The contract does not cover patellas,a congenital disorder, which makes me think that she breeds dogs that do not have normal patellas. If neutering is so important to her,she should do it before she sells the pups. |
