YT Addict | I will NEVER meet anyone with a puppy ever again!!! I have had a very bad day. I raise yorkie and Maltese. I had a litter of Male Malteses. Everyone knows that most want females, + with the economy, I price them at 1/2 of what I sold my males for last year with out papers. ($400) All my adults is AKC with many Champions in bloodlines. A girl call and I told her I had 3 males left, I sent her pictures. She emailed me back want very close up pictures of one of thems face to make sure he had all his black points. So I did, she had already bought one puppy and took it back the next day because one of the eyes had not darken up. (Puppy was only 7 wks old) (This should have been a red flag for me if she had taken a puppy back to one breeder.) I told her some take longer for black points to dark up than others. I told her that he had all his black points she like the pictures that I took that day. She had family coming in so wanted to put a deposit down to hold it until today. I have paypal set up to do that, she put $100 down. ( most of the time I ask for 1/2) Anyway, I never meet anyone with a puppy, I think people should see my dogs, how they are raised, ect. But she call last night saying she did not think she would have time to get here, she did not have a sitter for her 2 small kids, but her mom could keep them but just a few hours. She was 3 hours from me, she wanted me to meet her 1/2 to save time, or she would have to come another day. I needed her to get the puppy today, because I am going out of town this weekend and would not have to get someone to keep him. She said she would pay me gas and for my time. When I got there she at 1st loved the puppy, give me the other part of the cash, I give her the papers where he had got shots, & ect. About the time I went to leave she ask about very very little tear stain in the sides of his eyes. The puppy is now 10 weeks old and this is so little of stainning do to the hair getting in his eyes, but not enough hair to pull up. So little that in all the pictures I took it would not show up, just looking at him you can not see it. You have to push hair down and be really looking to see this. She said she thought she was going to have to change her mind and not get the puppy and need her money back. I told her that I had just drove over an hour 1/2 and now got to go back an hour 1/2 she was going to have to pay for my time, gas, & ect. She did only because I had the money in my hand, I did not have to give it back. At this point she had bought the puppy and agreed to the health contract. I give anyone time to have the puppy looked at and if he finds some health wise wrong to bring the puppy back. I told her she did not need to call any other breeders and waist their time, she was never going to be happy. She has brought back now two puppies to breeders and when to 3 others house and looked. She don't know enough about the breed and don't need one. But I can not tell you how mad I was. I had planned on take my 13 year old school shopping but you can not take puppies in stories down their, so all my plans was on messed up, and also my day. So now it is back to the way I have always done, I will NEVER meet anyone with a puppy!!! But she did have to pay for a shipping fee!! |

| I can feel your frustration! I'm sorry that happened to you but I try to look at things as if it were for a reason. She probably would have caused you problems in the long run so better it happen right from the start!

YT Addict | after all is said and done this is what I think about it. She is wanting a prefect dog for $400. (Yes my dogs are better than $400, I most the time sell for $800 range) but anyway that is what she was paying for a AKC Champion bloodline, I think very good price. But even show dogs are not prefect, they are just close to the breed standard. There is not prefect dog and I know of many $1000 dogs that have some tear stainning, alot more than this puppy. I am going to try my best to make my pictures small enough in file size to post them. But if she thinks she should have prefect in looks, does she think she looked prefect to me, is her kids the prettiest kids in the world. What would she had said to the Dr. If her kids would have been born with something wrong with their face. Would she had give them back, said I don't want them. I am sorry to be going on and on. But it was has gotten off on me, I have never had anyone to come and not love my puppies or never has one been brought back. And I can say as breeders we know what to look for in our puppies, I have had one here and there that was not the prettiest in the litter. Nose was a little long, ect. But saying the truth about this puppy, if I needed a male to keep, he would be a keeper. That is how good this puppy look, he has the cutest teddy bear face, will be around 5 lbs. As good as you will get for under $800 and she was going to get him for $400. What a deal!! Last edited by julietimothy; 07-01-2009 at 04:02 PM. |

| I don't think she sounds like she was worth having one of your pups to begin with. I would just take it as a lesson learned and realizing you're better than that and move on.

| That's terrible! But can you imagine if this poor puppy ended up with her? Seems like no one can live up to her standards! She reminds me of some customers (I work in a shoe store). I've had people who will observe every inch of a shoe and if they find one little thread, mark, or anything pretty much (that you can't even see unless you hold right up to your eyes) they start complaining. I know it must be fustrating for you, but I think the little guy is better off with out that lady as a mommy!

YT Addict | Trust me I learned my lesson, never meet anyone, and with the deposit and travel fee I charged her, I think she may have learned a lesson too. She paid me gas, miles on my car, for my time, eats (it was lunch time) and for the inconvensience she caused me. So yes the lesson that she learned cost her too. I just hopes she stops calling breeders now the puppy she wants is not out there. |
