How long before showing? Hi, I've got a girl that is due two weeks from today exactly. She doesn't look pregnant at all, so I'm thinking she didn't take. She's got a pretty slender build and it's her first litter, I figured she would probably show quick. Sometimes I think her belly is poochy, but it could just be me imagining it. I thought about taking her in for an ultrasound but decided to wait a little longer and hope she starts looking bred and just take her in for the xray. What's the latest you guys have ever had one start showing? I keep hoping one day I'll wake up and she'll be huge lol. Whitney

In most cases they would be showing some signs by now but in larger females sometimes it is hard to tell if they are only carrying one puppy. Also if you bred her several times it could be that one of the later breedings took and she might have more than two weeks to go. If she is pregnant the nipples would be enlarged and the vulva would be soft and enlarged.

Hi, She's about a 5 pound girl her vulva is still bigger than before her heat, but not as big as it was when she was in heat. When can you usually start feeling them move around? I'm holding out hope that she's got one or two small ones in there. She was left with the stud after the first tie for about a week, I didn't know that or we would have done it different so maybe she took later. Thanks! Whitney

You can usually start feeling light movement about a week before they are due. If they are carrying a lot of puppies you can feel the movement sooner but with one puppy sometimes it is not easy to feel until a week before they are due. Please keep us posted if you find out she is pregnant.

| It's been my experience that with first timers, they don't necessarily show until about a week to a week and half before their due date. Muscles are taunt, they're in better shape the first go around.....Might want to take her in for an x-ray a week before her first due date.

Hi, Thanks Mardelin that gives me some hope for her. Her vulva is almost but not quite double the size of my other girls who has had a few litters in the past but isn't bred or in heat now. I don't notice anything when she's on her back, but when she's standing it looks like I can see a little poochy belly hanging down. I'm going to schedule her xray for next week I'll post the results on here. Thanks for all the help. Whitney

I just thought I would update, I got Belle preg checked and she's open by xray and ultrasound. I was figuring she was but decided to get her checked anyway. Whitney
