I did manage to get it open a little and I didn't see anything up front or in the middle. What am I looking for? Is it torwards the back? I'm going into the vet today to get more milk I will ask her then. |
Okay I just put a hole in one of the new nipples. How do I know if its too big or too small. I put milk in the bottle and turned it upside down and no milk drips out, is that too small of a hole. When I put water in it, it drips out slowly. I know the milk is thicker, so should it drip out slowly with the milk in it? |

I didn't give my pups their first shots until 8 weeks of age. 8, 12 and 16 weeks. However, that is why I asked you to see about the colestrum, that is unless the milk you're feeding has it in it. Colestrum is what gives the puppies antibodies. |

Isn't this hand raising fun? Next 3 weeks you'll be walking around like a zombie. Things will get better as he takes more and more and the feeding times begin to spread. |

How will I know when he can go longer without eating, I'm doing every 3 hours now and sometimes when I try to feed him at his 1 a.m. feeding he pulls away he doesn't want it. Does this mean I can go to every 4 hours now? Oh wow you did a whole litter, I think one is too much! Hats off to you.. |

Yep! A whole litter, and taking care of their mother too. Without the help of my husband, who did the night feeding, he's a night owl, I don't know if I'd have made it. Here's what my vet told me. Don't wake him up just to feed him. He'll tell you when he's hungry. Just like a baby. He'll begin to take more and more and sleep longer and longer. Before you know it, he'll be doing 6 hours and then 8......yeah! sleep time for you. Just make sure he's warm and comfortable. You don't have to diaper him everytime, about 4 to 6 hours. |

Well darn, I've been waking him up every 3 hours to feed him and most of the time he still has a full belly and doesn't eat that much. He never cries at night, now I know why.... he's still satisfied  My hubbys a night owl to but "claims" he doesn't know how to do it. So I told him I will show him and he plays dumb like he doesn't understand what I just did  Thanks you for all your help!!! Its greatly appreciated :):):):):):) |
