Hey Yall.. I have 2 yorkies Marilyn came in heat and her and demiggo hooked up today.. this is both of their first times and marilyns first heat.. It was a total accident and i was trying to wait for her second.. Do dogs always get pregnant their first time?

To answer your question -- a female who is bred during her first heat may very well get pregnant.

Yes, she can definitely get pregnant. Unfortunately, we read about these accidents more often than we should. Do you know what day of her heat cycle she is on? How old is she and how much does she weigh? Your best hope is that it is either too early or too late in her heat cycle for her to get pregnant. If it is anywhere from the 9th to the 17th day then it is likely she could get pregnant. Just keep them separated so it does not happen again and hopefully she will not get pregnant. In the meantime you need to start studying up on breeding and whelping. She will be in heat a full 21 days. You can take her to the vets in about 30 days and he can do a ultrasound to tell if she is pregnant. Please keep us posted.

Thanks so much!! Marilyn is 1 year and 6 months and weighs 5 pounds and the male she breed too weighs 3 I know about the whole process my mom breed pugs my whole life I was just always told that its not good for a dog to get pregnant on their first heat.. She is my heart I'm just worried about my baby girl...

If she is already 1 year and 6 mths old this is probably her second heat now. You may have missed her first heat when she was younger. She is old enough to have puppies and is a nice weight to have them as well. Good luck!!
